The unnatural natural balloon
Given Dexter's proclivity to hang out with frogs and gold fish, you should be aware that he is a prime candidate to experience a bout of felineagas'ntailmaladie. Certainly, this is nothing that should overly alarm you, as felinfelineagas'ntailmaladie is not at all deadly, causes the cat no real discomfort, and generally lasts no longer than two to four weeks - although this can be a mighty nerve-wracking two to four weeks.
It is best to keep the cat inside during this time - as there is no telling where he might come down - although you may get tired of dragging Dexter off the ceiling.
For those few of you unfamiliar with felineagas'ntailmaladie, it is a strange malady that happens only to cats. By means not yet understood by vets and biologists, the normal venting system is by-passed and gas that would normally be released harmless if pungently into the air travels instead into the tail of the cat. Furthermore, the skin of the tail becomes at once impervious to the gas and extremely elastic.
Thus, as more and more gas enters the tail, it swells up, like a balloon. When this tail-balloon grows large enough, it will pick that cat right up off the ground and cause it to float through the air.
If this should happen to Dexter while he is out and about in his five, and if he should rise above your reach before you can react, only to be caught by the breeze and then to drift out of your sight, please do not become overly alarmed. I have a feeling that he will drift far to the north - snatching grasshoppers and raindrops along the way for nutrition and hydration - and then his tail will deflate and he will come down in my backyard, right here in Wasilla, Alaska.
I will then send you a private message and you can drive to Wasilla and pick him up. If you would prefer, I could reserve a Lear Jet for him and send him back to Tennessee that way.
This would be quite pricey, but it would cause Dexter to feel mighty special, which, of course, he is.
