I found this on Catster and thought I'd share for those of you unfamiliar with the site

It is a rather well written guide aimed at first time cat owners, good to pass on to anyone you know contemplating adding a cat to their family.

I think that if more people know what they are getting into before they get a kitty, the less likely they will be inclined to get rid of them if a "problem" arises.

Knowledge is power after all ;)

I HAVE RAED THIS AND ITS A GOOD BASIC FIRST STEP BEFORE YOU ADOPT A CAT.
THE SAD THING IS THAT TOO MANY PETS ARE TAKEN ON AN IMPULSE AND THEN LET GO WHEN THEY PROVE TO BE "INCONVENIENT" OF ACTUALLY COST A BIT OF MONEY FOR VET CARE.
I DOUBT IF RAEDING THIS WOULD CHANGE THE MIND OF THESE PEOPLE,BUT ITS CERTAINLY WELL WRITTEN AND CONCISE.:cool::cool::cool:
