Nimrod's Scars
Andy noticed Nimrod had some shed stuck to his head the other day. When I took him out, I saw he had a scratch on his chin that was bleeding a little, so I isolated him.
After giving Nim some time to settle in, I set to work getting the old shed off and found some fresh scars on him.
I just can't understand what happened. They've lived together for 3 years since they were 8 weeks old with no incidents, have never been bred, and we did a deep clean of their tank three weeks ago and Nim had no evidence of scars then. They both hunted crickets and ate their CGD. I never heard any squabbles.
I guess Raptor just had a bad day or something and took it out on poor Nim. :(
As much as it frustrates me, I have to do what's best for Nim. We'll be setting up his own bachelor pad this weekend.

OUWCHIE!!
Too many beers on Friday night?
Darn bar fights are nasty!
Hope Nim heals up OK ... do they "normally" fight?
-
Males will compete over females, but my two were never bred, so they didn't fight over a girl.
Probably over food or a prime sleeping spot or something stupid like that.

Poor little guy, he's quite handsome. In the before AND after photos.

Ouch.
Despite the scars, he is still a gorgeous little guy. He still looks very happy, too! Then again, many Cresteds seem to have that permanent "smile" on their faces. :)

Thanks. :)
He's healing up nicely. I'll try to get some updated photos of him. :)

Poor Nim! I am glad you guys noticed, and I am sure his own "bachelor pad" will be the best it could possibly be!
