A puppy's day out

We live in the country and we have a small fish pond on our property. And Lord knows it's been hotter than Hades for us humans let alone a black furred pup. So here are some pics of Lady, (yes the same Lady who hangs out at Thursdays), having some fun in the pond.

As you can see she had a great time and Daddy had to give her a bath afterwards but even that didn't change the fact that she was a much cooler puppy that day.

Mom didn't hear the puppy cursing that was going on during the bath!

I think she spent half her time in the pond trying to figure out WHY the other members of the pack were ruining a perfectly good trip to the pond by riding around in a shiny metal thingy.

I'll bet that cold water felt good. That is one happy doggy! :D

I think you are right. It looks like Lady certainly knows how to enjoy a day at the "lake." :D

Hurray for Lady pics! It looks like she had a fun day! I hope the bath helped her keep cool a little longer after she came home from the pond.

Whadya mean "boat" - I'm a water dog, don'cha know!

We haven't let her just run in the pond many times, as she has a habit of going off gallivanting to anywhere but home. Evidently she has decided that her off leash time in the pond is too much fun to ruin by running away and making dad put her on the run.

The first time we really let her have her way in the pond was funny, I wish we had had a camera out with us then. There are a lot of bass in the pond, and evidently they decided that Lady's legs looked like something good to chomp on. She was standing in the pond, pawing at the water, when all of a sudden she JUMPED like "Hey, someone's nibbling on me!!!".

She also does a good job on goose patrol, as we have a local flock of Canada Geese who have decided our pond makes a good rest stop, but not so much when there's a dog in the area who LOVES to chase birds.

Looks like she had a great time! How cute!
