Rhodesian Ridgebacks
I adopted a pound puppy in December, which I was told at the time was a Lab/Dobie X.
As she has grown, I am amazed at the amount of people who have stopped and asked me about my RR.
Curious, I visited RR pages and found my dog to look indentical to most of them. She does not have a ridge, however.
I sent a few pics of my pup to a RR breeder who told me chances were very high that she was perhaps a purebred RR but given up due to her lack of ridge.
She is a lovely dog, now about 9 months old, spayed. Very affectionate, gets on well with people and other dogs.
I am interested in hearing more about Rhodesians from the people that own them.

Hello, Fellow Canadian :D
I don't have a Ridgeback but because its a hound I LOVE them. I would love to have one but due to the size Im not allowed. They are wonderful, kind, sweet, smart dogs and not to mention gorgeous :D
I would love to see pics if you are able to post them.
Also this is a site that has two beautiful Ridgebacks http://www.akua-ba.de/eindex1.html they are the dogs that really turned me on to the Ridgebacks.
Nice to have a fellow Canadian and Hound owner on the board :) Welcome.

First of all, let me say proudly that I love Canadians and almost permanently moved to Toronto many years ago. One of my best friends has lived there 30 yrs..eh?
Ok, back to Ridgebacks.. I did not know they were hounds. A guy in my neighborhood is fostering a 13 yr old Ridgeback and he is beautiful. At dog shows, I have a tendency to head over to them immediately. I heard they can be quite difficult to train. Any thoughts on that???
Salute to our friends in the big white North!
