Good News for Filou
Filou has been in for his teeth cleaning this morning. He got a very light anesthesia for this - he was only knocked out for about an hour and is already back home. Of course we took the opportunity to have his blood level checked (you know he has kidney failure) and within the last half year (last check was in August) his urea and creatinine level have stayed totally unchanged -too high, that is, but rather in the medium range.
He did not loose any weight and we knew from his behavior he does feel well. He has even learned to accept his weekly fluids.
On this basis we feel confident to have him for quite some time to come. :)

I sometimes think that cats are like human toddlers, made of rubber and cement. They're tough little cookies! Yay for Filou!

What great news! Makes me smile!

Barbara, I'm so glad to hear this news! :) Filou is quite the little fighter, and I'm sure you'll have him for a long time yet.
Give him some kisses and scritchies from us.

I have an old friend with an elderly cat in kidney failure who has been administering fluids for five years. Mae is doing OK and living a relatively good life of love and comfort. There's no reason Filou can't do the same. Your constant love will keep him with you.
