Giving Magic her eye medicine

Oh boy! What a challenge that was tonight. My poor baby has been battling this eye irritation on and off for the last few months. She was at the vet about 2 months ago and my vet couldn't find anything wrong with Magic's eye except for a small scratch on the inside lid. She gave me this thick eye medicine that has to be applied in her eye 3 times a day for 1 week when her eye gets watery and irritated. I don't think there is anything more challenging than trying to give your cat eye medicine, especially when you have to do it by yourself. I locked myself in the bathroom with her and wrapped her in a towel. After a few minutes and several unsuccessful attempts of actually trying to get the meds in her eye I finally did it.

Anyway, can anyone recommend some easy steps or suggestions so next tine this won't be so difficult?
