The humane society I work for is doing a weekly newsletter that will feature animals that have been with us for too long. The cat featured will be a "forgotten feline". Can anyone come up with something similar for dogs? You can use anything that will describe a dog - hound, pooch, canine, dog, etc. We are all stumped on what to call it!
Cast away canine? Cast aside canine?
I could only come up with deserted dog and homeless hound.
