It depends on who I am talking too.I call it Soda at the stores, when I am going out to eat,ect...I call it Pop when I am around my family.I called it Pop once and people asked me what a pop was.
I call them fizzy drinks. Some people I know call it pop, but for me, coke and soda are types of fizzy drink.
Pop. :D
I call it soda if I'm referring to anything else, but I always have a Diet Coke in my own hand.
I say Soda. I used to call it Pop, but when I was in Australia they told me pop meant fart! :o
I call it pop, but I usually call it by its name, Coke, Pepsi, Root Beer, etc.
We grew up calling it "tonic." Everyone in the area did - family, frineds, even the aisle labels in the grocery said "tonic." Then in my 20's I moved to DC for school and no one had a clue what I was talking about. So I called it soda. I kept up with soda unti l6 years ago when Dad moved in with me. He stills calls it tonic, so I am back and forth now.
Soda
I have an addiction to Diet Mountain Dew and I always call it soda :)
I call it pop...I live in western Pennsylvania, no choice! :D
It's coke, no matter what the drink actually is. The caffeinated drink is a coke, and then after it's known that you want a coke (instead of water or beer or something), specify as to which coke you'd like.
:)
Diet...or diet cola....that way I hope to avoid the "we serve Pepsi" (Great!) or "we serve diet rite" (yuk!)
I get all of it except for calling everything Coke. Although I think that's what everyone calls it back home...I know growing up I always fought that, though, because even as a kid, it bugged me. I call it a soda. Or I specifically ask for which one I want, and that's usually root beer. I take in as little caffeine as I can, I'm already hyper. 'Course the sugar doesn't help much. ;)
We tease my husband from he's from New York, and says "soda."
We say "pop"out here in these parts. ;)
I ask him if wants vanilla or chocolate ice cream with that, because to us a "soda" is a fizzy ice cream drink ... not a pop! LOL
I call it pop!
