Remembering Mattie
I found an old roll of film that I had not developed and figured it to be about four years old. I finally took it in today to have it developed and was shocked to find a picture of my RB Springer Spaniel, Mattie. It reminded me how much I missed her and what a great dog she was. She was dumped off at a shelter because her owners bought her, AKC registered and all, to be a lap dog and at 35 pounds she outgrew her lap dog status. My family had just lost our previous liver and white Springer and really didn’t want another Springer because we thought it would be too much like replacing Kelly. Well, one look at Mattie and we knew she was coming home with us.
So, here’s to you Collette’s Mademoiselle, daughter of Magic Trick Max and Collette’s Joyful Noise, you’re sorely missed and I hope that you are enjoying chasing birds at the RB. Please keep an eye over Frankie and Riley while they’re down here and know that you’re not forgotten.

Oh Craig, she was a gorgeous girl. And definitely was very happy and comfortable in "her" chair. Run and play hard at the bridge, Mattie.

Mattie was a beautiful girl! Glad she had a wonderful life with you.

That must have been such a shock, after all these years. Mattie looks like a sweet dog. They must know we never stop loving them. This was surely bittersweet. I'll bet you're glad you have the pictures.

You Mattie is so cute and adorable. It must of been hard to lose her. She is at the Rainbow Bridge and is playing with the PT angels :(

Craig, she was beautiful! How lucky was she to have found you? I hope you know she is waiting, I truly believe they are. Thank you for sharing.

She was a beautiful girl. I can't believe someone would just dump her at a shelter for such a pathetic reason. She's very lucky that she ended up with your family and had a wonderful life with people who loved her for who she was, not her size.
