Sugars

Last Thursday, Sugars found a hole in the fence that was overlooked by everyone. I was feeding them when she ran out of the fence. I screamed for her to come back but she didn't listen to me (which was the first time ever) and I couldn't reach her in time. A truck came by and didn't even slow down...not even when they hit her. I ran out to her and I thought she was already dead at first but then I heard her moaning and saw her breathing. I carried her back up to the house, crying and we rushed her to the vet. He said that he would put her on an IV and treat her for a concussion but he wouldn't know until the next day if she would have permanent brain damage. We went and visited her Friday and he said that it didn't look good. She wouldn't eat on her own and she wasn't responding to anything around her. He was going to give her until the next morning and if there was no improvement she would be pts. She died at 11:00 that night. I'll post more about her later because right now I just can't go on.

Oh, God.. I'm so sorry.. Poor Sugars..

The driver didn't even stop?? I'd go to the papers and tell them about this and see if they'd do an article to humiliate the man.

We are fixing the hole and looking for any others. But...the hole in our hearts can never be mended.
We weren't able to get her body since it is really icy down here so I'm going to put up a cross for her in the yard and bury a few of her favorite things like her stuffie (that she carried everywhere) and her ball.

BC_MoM-They didn't even slow down. They even had room to swerve around her and not hurt themselves. Going to the paper sounds like a good idea. I just wish I knew who it was that did it. It was probably somebody that just didn't care. I think there are too many people in the world that just don't care if they kill somebody's best friend because they think that it's "just an animal" :(

Sumbirdy, I'm so sorry for your loss. One day karma will catch up with the driver of that truck. RIP Sugars.

This is so heartbreaking I can barely stand it. I'm so so sorry for your loss. Curses on the driver-their day will come. Safe journey to RB, sweet Sugars. My Cody, Watcher over the Bridge, will keep Sugars safe and happy.

Oh my God, I'm so sorry. How horrible. I couldn't even imagine what you feel. Prayers to you and Sugars. We'll see them all soon.

I can not even begin to express how very sorry and heartbroken I am for you, what an awful thing to happen, I totally agree about going to the papers and it will come back on them one day, you may not ever know what but it will happen. My prayers and thoughts go out to. RIP sweet Sugars, go play with Ginger and Mousse and all the other furkids.

I am so sorry. Words cannot express. I happen to know exactly how you feel. A similar thing happened to me and my family almost 5 years ago.
I don't even know what to say. Nothing I say can take back what happened.
I am sooo sorry. :(
