I'm stuck between getting a used Canon PowerShot A70 or a new Canon PowerShot S1 IS.
The A70 is $100 cheaper..
The only difference I see between them is that the S1 IS does not have a AF-assist lamp.
Would you let this set you back from buying the S1 IS over the A70?
I *think* the S1 IS also has 10x optical zoom.. well worth the $100! I'd go for the S1 IS in a heartbeat!
Oh definitely go for the S1 IS. The optical zoom well makes up for the price difference, and that particular line of cameras (the ISs) are a "step up" from the powershots
The S1 is a newers and more improved Canon. I have the S2 and the A80.
Go for the S1 without even thinking about it. I have the S2 and am blown away by its capabilities.
