Spraying
I have read several of the post of spraying, but still have one question. A friend is looking into getting a young cat or kitten. She knows a neighbor that has two kittens that are about 6 months, not fixed yet. But the male has been spraying for about 2 months. Will this stop when he gets fixed or will it be a contant issuse for her if she decides to take him?? Is it better to get a kitten and get him fixed before any spraying starts?
Thanks,
Heather

Heather,
Your friend needs to get the kittens fixed ASAP. If not, they will continue to spray.

There's no garauntee that they'll stop once fixed but it will definately escallate if she does not. She has to completely clean every place he sprayed to ensure he doesn't spray on top of his old spots... they smell where they've peed before and will continue to pee again unless its been completely cleaned.
