Fawn is empathetic

Ever since 2 weeks ago, when I seriously considered moving out of state, Fawn (my little Abyssinian-mix) has been crying at times, all hours of the day and night, wandering about the house , as though I am gone! When in reality I'm not going anywhere for several months in the future, and that I am usually within 10 ft. from him. To get him to quiet down, it is necessary to call him. He looks at me with the most sorrowful look, and then begins his approach to me, jumping and purring. Could it be that he picked up my intentions and is fearful that I might leave him (he is possibly thinking, permanently)? Of course, if I do move later this year or early next, all of my furkids are going with me.;)

Having had Abys for years now, most of them are very vocal and get more and more vocal as they age. The whine. Graemer does it when he wants to play with his favorite toy...and they both do it when I am outside and they are inside. It is pitiful sounding. My neighbors tell me that they do it whenever anyone walks by. I'm surprised animal welfare hasn't called to check up on me.

My guess is that Fawn is bored and wants your attention. Or, is hungry or both or neither.....and just communicating with you.

Oh, that sounds so cute! If I didn't know better, I would say there's some Aby in Casper too, but there isn't. He must be the biggest whiner in the world :rolleyes:

Sunny is a whiner too. He's also half aby. He usually does this when he's bored or to get attention. Sometimes Storm will also whine to get attention but he has little baby meows so it doesn't bother me as much. Sunny's meows are very loud at times. He also chirps a lot when he's running or playing. Some kitties are just more vocal than others.:)
