yay! THEY DON'T THINK IT IS!!!!! SHE CALLED BACK AFTER CONSULTING WITH THE OTEHR DOCS!!!! I HAVE JUST SOMETHING CALLED OSHGOOD SHLATTER!!! MY BONES ARNE'T GROWING RIGHT OR SOMETH9ING!! I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS??
So glad its better news that you thought! Poor knee :( I hope you're feeling better soon.
:) Glad the news is better than it sounded at first. [Yikes! ] I'm not familiar with this condition. Please keep us posted.
I sure hope that you feel better soon and that the doctor can treat this condition. Please keep us posted.
Oooooooooooh my God!!!
I've had schlatter since I was like 12, and this is my first time ever meeting someone who even knows what the hell it is, even less have it themselves!! I'm shocked...
Let me assure you though, it isn't a big deal at all (I'm speaking from my own experience here, so of course it might be totally different for you). All it ever did to me was give me a bump directly under my knee which really isn't even that visible. I never got any treatment for it whatsoever, and it's never bothered me at all.
The doctors told me that people who are very atletic are more prone to getting schlatter, but since I never liked to excersise there must be other reasons for getting it.
So I wouldn't worry too much if I were you, it's not a big deal really. *hugs*
WHEW! RELIEVED the news wasn't the dreaded C. My brother also has this and like Ann it has never bothered him. His bumps under his knee are visible only if you really look for them!
Whoa:eek: Kinda scary at first, but I'm glad it is nothing that is really going to bother you! :D
So glad it's not cancer!!!! Hope schlatter doesn't give you any trouble!
Mel, glad to hear that it wasn't cancer. Do you still need an MRI? I had knee surgery seeral years ago and had to have an MRI. Wasn't too bad.
Good Luck.
Thank God for the better news. However, perhaps your parents should take you to a bone specialist. Any doctor that tells a 13 year-old that she suspects cancer-without consulting her associates first-would not have my trust for very long:mad:
Hope you find some answers soon when you have the MRI. Take care of yourself and stay well.
