Seriously, I have actually heard about primitologists debating on whether or not they should classify chimps in the "Homo" category because some people believe they have "culture" (they craft tools, pass on knowledge to their young, etc) in a way that is similar to humans yet as far as we know, no other animals possess. I don't really know enough about it to feel one way or another, but I DO think they should be afforded more rights and kept out of circus acts and the like, in addition to being more protected.
