Do you have it?
I almost made this same poll lol. I don't have any right now but I think I'd like to get some for my crew someday. I don't really know how to go about it though.
You can search on the internet. At shelters here, when you adopt an animal, you get 6 weeks free pet insurance from Pet Plan, Canada's largest pet insurance company.
I'd really like to go with them, they look great. I'm just not sure what plan to choose!
I do.
HECK! I don't even have health insurance for ME!!!
My gang of 4 have pet insurance. It's the basic plan for illnesses (routine shots not covered) and injury. It has come in handy. $100 deductable then it pays 80/20. Costs $46.48 a month total for all 4 furry kids. I get group rate for 3 (1 is 12.23 additional 2 are $11.01) Cindy has her own policy at $12.23 since she was the last to arrive. It averages to $1.54 a day. It costs more to smoke, eat, put gas in a car in a day/month. I dont do the smoke part anymore. :)
It's money well spent in my opinion. I've always had it from day one owning pets.
I have a savings account that money is automatically put into twice a month. So I forget about it. It isn't just an "emergency vet fund", its an "emergency pet food etc" fund.
I've looked into lots of insurance places, most will not cover stuff if it has already been diagnosed or treated by a vet. So Charlie will automatically not get medicine for his allergies if that's the case because he has ben to teh vet for that before. It's a nice comfort zone to fall back onto, but it is just not the right choice for us. I would be paying more money that I would probably (hopefully... lol) never see again whereas if I put money away into my own savings account then I KNOW the money is there, and I don't have to wait around on some company to MAYBE reimburse me the money months later, if they cover it at all.
Not for my rodents ;) My cats Brando and Zsa-Zsa didn't have it, as when my parents first got them as kittens, pet insurance wasn't such a big thing. I'm pretty sure though that any future cats and dogs for us will be insured.
Nope.
Not sure why, though.
I don't, and probably never will either. I set a certain amount of money aside every month just incase something were to happen to Tango.
I have thought about it, but in my research I found it too restricting, for example most of them require all vaccinations or the whole thing becomes void..well I am not about to make my dogs seriously ill fo the sake of pet insurance lol plus they hardly cover anything, so no, I dont have oet insurence and likley never will.
no. i have a bank account that i don't touch incase of an emergancy vet trip. when you have rescue dogs a backu plan is a MUST!lol
I dont and dont think i ever will.I have heard of a vet credit card that is to be used only at your vets i have signed up for it and am waiting for it.If my guys need to go to the vet they go they are never deprieved of medical care,Mind you my mother has insurance on her cat and loves it, I dont care what the price is if my animals need any kind of vet care they got it,I dont think pet insurance is for me,I dont care the price my animals are all worth it!
I don't. I don't think Jen has ever had an injury/emergency. Or can you use it on annual trips, too? If I can use it on annual trips, I would get it, but only if it costs less (over the 12 months ) than the actuall vet trip (of course)
As much as I love Jen, I really don't think pet insurence is nessesairy.
Yep, I do :) And I'm glad we do for my puppers.
