They were talking about it on the news last night and we're probably still a month away from color in the mountains just north of us.
Our trees have been turning color for several weeks yet. Not alot of leaves on the ground so far, but there are some green trees and some that are completely yellow.
Our trees don't "turn". They die about mid August from the heat and lack of water and fall off brown & crispy. :p
Yep, ours turned a few weeks ago. Now mostly on the ground.
Leaves, turn? What's that? What do you mean?
Sadly, leaves here don't change, they just die in the winter.
Ours sound about the same stage as yours, David, starting to see colour in parts.
Here in North East Ohio they have started to turn, but our "peak" season is about the 2nd-3rd week in Oct.
That is my fav time of the year!!
Yes, I even noticed last week-end that they were starting falling...which was depressing, I was just back from my holiday one week before!
Yes they are DavidP.
The first to go are "The Walnut" leaves, Yellow papers dancing in the late summer wind.
When I see them whirling about on the deck floor, I know that Miss Autumn has arrived.
There is a very old , large Maple Tree down the road from our house. It always puts on a grand show of color~~~~ Crimson, orange, brown , and gold!!!! It is starting to take notice once again!!!
Its cold and windy but I still see green :D
But on those green leaves are white spots..I think from polution. :(
A few trees have started, but not most of them yet. A little further west and north there are more that have turned, but still not most.
A few of the tress have started to turn here, but not a whole lot. In the mountains, though, they are very colorful! Last week we went up there and all the aspens were orange & yellow, it was really beautiful.
Yes, they're everywhere! Smothering the paths and completely clogging our driveway. I've already begun the laborious task of peeling wet leaves from the soles of my shoes before I set foot inside the house :p
I'd say about 25% where I live in NH. I'll be going up North this Saturday and I think they're about 50-60% at peak. Fall is my favorite season. I just love how the leaves change color. But then they fall off and that means winter is on it's way. :(
