Since it's Friday and I've finished most of my work, I thought I would let you see what a colleague brought into the office today. It is a fairly everyday sort of object but does not usually come in that colour, to my knowledge.
So what do you think it is?

How long does it take for bananas to turn that particular shade of brown?
Bananas. Or are they called plantains when they are that colour, and you fry them - I think.
I was going to say "Figs?" but I think Lizzie's got it right with bannanas

I have no idea. I was going to guess aubergine at first, but I too think it's some kind of banana.
Some of these suggestions have completely put me off eating one! :eek:
Leaving that to one side for the moment, they are indeed bananas!

Now I ask you, have you ever seen a suntanned banana before? I couldn't get a good representation of the colour, the best description I can give is metallic purple. Really! The skin is a kind of pinky, purply, coppery shade, but the flesh is perfectly normal banana colour and they taste like normal bananas.
If any of you UK people want to see them for yourselves, then get yourself into Morrisons this weekend. :D
