Amy getting used to........

being around my other furkids, now. She has quit her scrowling and actively plays by running around the house while they are chasing each other. It took about 3 weeks for her to become accustomed to all of the others, and yet there is still room for improvement in her attitude towards them, but give her time, and she will totally integrate. Amy is my first rescue from an (no kill) animal shelter, so watching her change from being an only cat to being part of the indoor 9 is something new to me.:)

Glad to hear she's acclimating so well, Wayne. She sounded like a real sweetheart though, so I knew it was only a matter of time. :)

Such good news Wayne - Amy beginning to settle at last. Just think it's only been three weeks - so another three weeks will see more improvement :D :D

Wayne,I'm just curious.How many cat do you own (or they own you)
You always talk about yours indoors cats.How about yours outdoors,how many?

I have only 4 kitties,so be surrounded for so many
it sounds to me like being in heaven:p

Koxka, there are 5 outside furkids. One of them is Mama cat. She was the first cat that I gave a home to, being a "stray", and this was 6 years ago. All of my furkids are directly or indirectly related to her, excpet Tiger and Amy. I believe that she is approximately 8 years old. I do not allow them in the house because of the problems they cause those of the inside clan. If they were an only pet, then I could let them inside. (My inside furkids are not the types to be let alone outside, as I know they would fall prey to marauders.) They have lived through coyote raids and many dog incursions. So, I do not worry about their safety, as they all know that they should run opon the roof of the house for safety -and that is where they go. I can tell whether a cat is safe outdoors or not, by their dependence or constant need for other's affection-personality. All of the outdoor cats are class "A" type (aggressive and independent ) personalities. One of them (Checker) is incurably feral.

Last night it was cold here especially for this time of year. And do you think that the time I needed their warmth that they would come to bed? No! Except, Amy, Tiger and Fawn.:D I got up and put on some night clothes to keep warm. Any other time I would have to take some blankets off the bed so I wouldn't get too warm. Although they have been on a "rampage" for the past 2 days and nights, maybe they will settle down tonight. I do enjoy their sleep company, and when I wake up early in the AM, sometimes it is nearly impossible to get out of the covers because of my furkids surrounding me.:D

Wayne, I love kitties so, that I envy you waking up each AM with so many fur babies around you. I don't envy the noise they create when they are not sleeping. I bet they create quite a racket!

P. S. I think a wet nose is fine...dry nose no. What do I know!:eek: :eek: :confused: :D

SAS, it isn't so much the females that make the noises, but both of my indoor males (Snow cat and Fawn) are on the "hunt", for new things to get into at times. Although I generally can predict when they are going to be rowdy at night, still It can be very annoying, especially when I get up and find things tipped over and thrown on the floor. I don't get angry with them as it doesn't do any good. Mostly the problems that they cause are my error, in that I leave things out, that should be put away, or thrown away. :D
