Now, wait a minute! Lately, there has been an abundance of reports of COTD's possessing unusual, endearing, dog-like traits! Now, do not misunderstand me - I am a man who has lived with dogs his whole life through, and who has loved many dogs dearly and loves one now. But in its ability to sense ailments in a human it loves, and then go all out for that human, to comfort that human, and bring peace, soothing, and thus help that human become whole again, the cat is unsurpassed. In fact, in all areas of pure and simple companionship a cat can not be topped.

Now let me say that I am touched to read the story of Harley D and how he has helped his human friend. I hope that healing will continue; that Harley and friend will exchange countless numbers of those looks and glances that drive away trouble, fear and anger. May the two of you have many good years of love and companionship ahead of you, with an abundance of toys - whether designed for that purpose or not - spread about the house for Harley to spread about even further.

HarleyD, what a precious baby you are!! I can certainly understand your "healing powers", as I have experienced the devotion of a cat in my adult life too! She's still soothing and comforting me at almost 13 years old!

I wish the very best of Mondays for you, precious one. Lots of cat toys, whatever they may be! Have you tried the plastic ring off the milk jug? Or a rubberband? Those are some of our favorites!! Just don't swallow them!

HarleyD, what a cutie you are, I love the photo of you looking so sweet and innocent, but from what I read you love to play and not only that, you have made your human feel more secure and happy just being with you. The Doctors can prescribe the medications, the nurses can administer them, but when it comes to actually "healing" you, there is nothing like the spirit of a cat.

They will curl up at your side, purr forever, and give you eye kisses, head butts and a love bite or two. Cats can speak to your soul and help you heal.

When my father was sick and came to live at my house, my beloved cat, Carol, decided it was her job to help take care of him. She spent all her days with him and slept by his side at night. She was loving and caring toward him and helped to make his last days happy ones. He joked by calling her his Nurse Carol. I think he might have been waiting for her when she reached Rainbow Bridge.

HarleyD, what a sweetheart you are and with a healing spirit to boot! I'm very impressed, sweetheart. Hope you have a marvelous day as we honor you as our very special healingest Cat of the Day!

What a special kitty you are, HarleyD, to have brought so much joy and light into a person's life that can only see dark and doom.
