Ground whole flax seed and other supplements

I got the book "the truth about pet foods" and I think I've pretty much convinced my mom to a point where she'd be willing to feed Autumn raw while I'm at school. Yay!
Anyway, I was at walmart today and by the cornstarch was boxes of ground whole flax seed for $1.38 for a corn starch sized box. I think you could just sprinkle that on the meat or the food right? Its for baking for people, but if I baked it into dog treats would that take nutrients out? Is it very sensitive to heat? I'd assume that if it provides nutrients when baked for humans than maybe it wouldn't take out the nutrients.
What oils if any do people add to the raw diet? I was thinking it would be easy for her if I just blended the veggies, any oils, yogurt, and possibly eggs and portioned them out to freeze. I know veggies need to be a big part of Autumn's diet since she's so crazed about grazing.
I still have a 6 month supply of paws professional food, so I think one meal will be regular food until its all gone.
