Wonderful news....
Most of you who have taken time to read my threads will know the ongoing story of Duchess and Vicky, the two cats neglected by my neighbour and who I had spayed and rescued all their kittens, they have been basically living with me for five months now and i have been stressing wondering if I will get to keep them.
YOU GUESSED IT the Girls are officially MINE, the B***h just did a runner and abandoned them yet again, it breaks my heart to think she could leave these beautiful natured girls ,but it warms my heart so much to know they will be with me for the rest of their days, I love them so much.
The only drawback is she left her boy cat as well Charles, and he is a bit of a problem, I may have to try re-homing him, but my chances are not great, I rang the cat rescue but they are over-flowing but she did offer me a voucher to get him fixed for free, which is awesome, so will be doing that shortly.
Trouble is he needs a lot of socialising and is really a scaredy cat, although the girls were initally too and are right love bugs now, and the biggest problem he is challenging Ash daily, they have already had a scrap, and Ash is like 12 yrs old , has arthritis and a heart murmur, he does not need this, I am hopping mad that she did not at least take him with her, I would have been heartbroken had she taken the girls.
It is the best news i could possibly tell you all, and i seriously doubt she will be coming for them, i never noticed her leaving as I had Melissa home sick all week, but apparently the neighbours said she left a week ago, although i saw her two days ago putting out the rubbish, but now i don't have to stress wondering if she will just up and take them away from me.
I am a little scared at the reality of it all, knowing i have the responsibility for all these kitties now,but i will be doing my best to ensure all kitties have the best care possible, so far going good, just worry if vet visits come up,but will cross that bridge when and if i come to it.
So please stop by and celebrate with me, I was walking up to the shop and noticed her flat empty, I forgot about the shopping and ran home to tell the girls, they are sunning on the verandah, gorgeous winter day here, i was elated saying GIRLS you are MINE now. :) :D

Oh Carole, that's WONDERFUL NEWS!!!! At least they have a loving, secure home with someone who loves them deeply.
I only wish I lived close, I would gladly take Charles and socialize him. I love working with feral cats.
I'd report the 6itch to the ASPCA. I'm glad you got a voucher so the males can be fixed. That's one less thing to worry about.
As far as her coming back and staking a claim on the cats, don't even worry about it. First of all, you've got all the paperwork that proves YOU had them spayed/neutered. Plus, possession is 9/10's of the law. Screw her!!

Thanks Donna, i was hoping you would be first to read my news, isn't it great? I love those girls with all my heart, Charles is not feral, but he is just very scared and not too trusting, but hey I can pat him and pick him up now, do you think we could do another country Adoption like Jen did to England, he he just kiddin.
Thanks for you ongoing support, it has meant the world to me.
Cheers. :)

Whoopee!!!! Yee haw, that's fantastic news! Lucky kitties. :)

I reckon Kari, she had told me she was going to Aussie for a months holiday in september, i know now had I not been here, she would have just abandoned the cats then, so I am so happy they are with me now, time for a new siggy I think. :)

Oh, Sis. That is such great news! Those kitties now have the best mommy they can have forever. Carole, I'd definitely do what Donna said and call the ASPCA on her. I'm just SO happy they now have a furever home with you! {{{{HUGS}}}} to you from Pittsburgh!

I am thankful she left ALL the kitties, even Charlie, for you to care for. Imagine Charlie's life if she had taken him. :(
I know it will be a strain financially, and socially if Charlie keeps picking on your girl. But, I think it is a far better situation than where they were.
Good luck.

carole ~ This is such great news. The kitties really have a chance now thanks to your wonderful, generous heart. Don't stress out about the added responsibility. In actuallity, they've been YOURS all along. They chose you a long time ago.

congratulations on your new crew! The pictures you posted of the girls just warmed my heart, they look so sweet. As for Mr. Not-So-Sweet...maybe after he gets neutered he'll mellow out a bit?
-
I'm so happy for you, Carole!
I'm sure Charlie will chill out when he get fixed and realizes how much better his life will be.

That is wonderful news!! :) I'm so glad you will be providing the girls and Charles a new home.

Thanks everyone, yes i am hoping kitty will calm down a little after being fixed, but i think i will at least try to re-home him if at all possible, my chances are not good, so he will have a home with me don't worry.
David and Donna i hear what you are saying, and i would love her to get hers, but it just won't happen, firstly she has gone and i have no idea where and I only ever knew her by her first name, I guess I will just have to let sleeping dogs lie as the saying goes, I have my precious new furbabies now and that is all that matters, a lot of bad karma will come her way , that i feel sure of.
I was going to keep the girl's original names Duchess and Vicky, i call Duchess Duchella, but decided a new start, a new beginning for them deserves new names, so keeping to a similar sound that they are used to they are now called.
Nikki (Nix for short)and Gabriella,(Ella) and Charles is being re-named Toby, he never responded to any name anyhow, so will get him used to it.
Lisa i will always be eternally grateful to you for providing me with the financial help to spay these girls,I will never forget your generosity.,and if the girls could say thanks believe me they would.
For those of you who missed my thread with pics, here are the three of them in order First is Gabriella, then Nikki and then Toby, bit much light on Ella, but she is indeed a very pretty girl, she has one eye pink lined and one eye dark lined, so cute, and looks like she has eye liner on them, very sweet cute face, and she has a habit of just sitting and staring at you for ages, probably hoping i will get up and give her and extra feed, and yes i do give in sometimes.
I am still pinching myself to believe it is true, but just seeing them all soundly curled up downstairs, and I know it is, The girls always just stay downstairs, and Lexie's place is upstairs on our bed everynight, i plan to keep it that way, Ash chooses either up or down, but the girls are content and have never tryed to come upstairs to my knowledge, so i think this is a good arrangement, Lexie is not so accepting of them and is feeling a bit put out I think, as she was my princess remember, so it is good she still has this special place with us, she oftens stalks the girls and has a wee spat, but the tolerance level is suprisingly good, Ash well has met his match in Gabriella, he is learning to tow the line so to speak lol. :)

What a great ending for everyone. I am so glad for you and them that you all now belong together forever.
Sad thing is, there will be another neighbor where ever she goes that will have the same thing to deal with. She wasn't stupid, she knew you would take care of them. Should she ever dare to show up, tell her she has to pay all vet bils and $X.00 for food and supplies for them, PLUS a fee for YOUR trouble... Borders charge anywhere for $10 - $15 a day per animal.....
-
I seriously doubt she will ever show her face around here again in a hurry, i feel confident in saying that, but if she does I will indeed do as you say, I am hoping she has decided it is way easier not having animals and does not shift somewhere else and get more cats, but of course that is beyond my control and yes i Pity the cats more than anything and any of her future neighbours, maybe she decided to move to Aussie, I really have no clues, i believe when she went their for her holiday she would have abandoned them anyway.
It sure is a little overwhelming having so many cats, and my biggest worry is vet bills, I just want to do right by these kitties and give them the best possible care I can, but as my friend pointed out, stop stressing and just enjoy them, and when and if that time comes then worry like hell, but yes these kitties are now getting the life they so deserve at long last, i can imagine the suffering and hell poor Ella and Nicky have been through,as she had Ella Six years she told me,but no longer.
I sure hope alot of bad karma is coming her way.,she never had a conscience at all about the cats , neither did she care.
Wish me luck with my new felines folks, i am gonna need it. :)

i can't think of a more caring, loving person, than you, Carole..or should i rephrase that "Meowie Momma!" {HUGS} across the oceans....Hope Melissa is feelng better...
