Goodbye Sweet Simon

My sweet little gerbil Simon has died tonight.
He was over 3 years old, so he was a senior citizen, but I wasn't prepared to lose him.
Simon was such a sweet, kind gerbil, he loved to lay in the sun in his cage and also loved to have a treat of peanut butter.
Simon's 'brother' Alvin is now all alone, and, as Alvin is also over 3 years old, I am worried that missing Simon may send Alvin downhill.
Please keep little Alvin in your thoughts, and wish Simon a speedy trip to the Rainbow Bridge.
It is amazing that such a small creature can bring such joy when alive and such sadness when gone.

I'm so sorry for your loss, :( and I completely understand what you mean about how such a small creature can give you so much happiness, and how when they're gone, the saddness is overwhelming.
