Cincy's been sick
Poor Cincy, never seems to get enough of the vet!!! Going back, to the first week of april, Cincy got really sick one night (vomitting). next day she seemed fine. About a week and a half later she had an aful bout of loose stools....again, seemed fine afterward. Now this week, Monday morning about 2:45 am she woke me up vomitting. I didn't feed her til about 4:30 pm Monday to give her a chance to work out whatever, figuring she had a bug or something, but she seemed okay, active and everything, but then got sick again Monday night about 8:30 pm. Rest of the week she has been great, until last night...we were out from about 6:00pm until about 1 am and left both girls in the kitchen. When we got home, she had again had accidents (and very runny, stinky ones) all over the room. I took her outside while ralph steam cleaned the carpet, and she was playing, seems fine. Today she is great, running around, playing...has been eating and drinking the whole time. I called the vet this morning and they were full for today, but said to keep an eye on her over the weekend, make sure she is eating and drinking and I made an appointment For Monday afternoon.
I know puppies get into things and she is a huge offender of this, so we try to watch her pretty close. I just worry cause this seems like an awful lot of instances in a short amount of time. Am I making a big deal out of nothing?

You are not making a big deal out of nothing! If you have done nothing differently as far as her food is concerned that could cause the problem, then I would have done exactly what you did.
I hope your Cincy will be better very soon. Hopefully the vet can give you some answers. I want Cincy to feel better! :)
You might just try boiled hamburger and rice when you feed her until her tummy is better, or until the vet can give you some idea of what is causing her problems.

Poor Cincy. I sure hope she gets to felling better soon. This reminds me of Duncan, the dog that ate the butter but they later found out had some small sticks in his tummy. He had the vomiting and loose stools too. You might ask you vet about checking for something like that. Animals are so sneaky and fast they can swollow something before you even know it. Fingers and paws all crossed for Cincy's fast recovery. Please keep us posted.

Thanks for the idea on the sticks...she loves to sneak things off the woodpile out back, and although we try to take things away... I will definatley mention that to the vet. I read the first of the Dogs and Butter thread, but never followed up on it :(

Cincy'sMom,
I'll be praying for Cincy to get a good checkup on Monday.
If she has gotten into something, (trash can) ,or ingested
something from outside ,that can really mess up her
belly. Does she have a fever, or anything? Here's hopeing
she gets a clean bill of heath from the Vet. Hugs to Cincy!!!

You are doing the right thing by taking her to the vet. Let us know what he says! I will say a prayer that it is nothing serious.
-
Yes I agree that it is amazing what a dog will eat. I have found some really strange things on pooper scooping patrol! I'm glad Cincy will be seeing the vet on Monday and hope that nothing is seriously wrong. I agree with Logan on the hamburger and rice diet. I have used that before on my vet's suggestion and it helps to bind up those loose stools. Good luck and keep us posted!

I don't think your making a big deal of it! If anything even seems to be wrong with them, I'm out and rushing them to the vet! They are my kids and that's what you'd do if you had children, right?! Hope she keeps feeling better, and let us know what the vet said, ok?

Poor, sweet Cincy!!:( My Star is one of those pups who will eat anything and everything. We've gone through the same stomach upsets as Cincy! We have to watch her constantly. We'll be sending dear Cincy girl our prayers that she will keep her food down and keep drinking fluids until her vet appt. Please keep us updated! Hugs to you sweet girl. We'll be thinking of you on Monday!

Keeping our fingers crossed that this too shall pass. We'll be thinking of you all day tomorrow.

Good luck at the vet. I hope it is nothing but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Let us know what the vet says. And I agree with all the others your are not making a big deal. I worry about mine too. I'd rather take them 1 extra time to the vet than regret it later on.

We are back from the vet and she was not too worried. She said everything looks good...no fever, coloring is good, belly looks and feels good...said Cincy probally just had a bug or something and since it seems to be correcting itself (her poop was much firmer yesterday and today then it had been Friday and Saturday), they aren't going to do anything for now. She said if Cincy has another episode to call and talk to one of the vets and they would decide where to go from there. In the meantime, she gave us some anti-diharrea medicine in case she has a problem at night or on the weekend and we can't talk to them right away. So for now, we just watch her and keep our fingers crossed that Cincy did just have a bug.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It makes it so much easier to deal with these little issues, when there are people you can talk to about it who understand :)
