I have a Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix that is in need of a home. I am in the Memphis, TN area.

Is she your dog and you're getting rid of her, if so, Why?
How old is she, does she get along with other dogs, cats, small animals, children? Any behavioral problems?
These questions would help to try and find a home for her.
I would also suggest asking for a small adoption fee for her. No less than $75.
She is my dog (three years). She has suddenly become aggressive with my male dog. I've been working with a behaviorist, but nothing seems to work in this situation.
She is great with other dogs, people, children, strangers, and loves car rides and retrieving.
Aggressive in what way? A sudden change? Has a Dr. checked her for any medical problems? After 3 years you are just ready to give her away :confused: She looks to be a dear and I would think she deserves better.
In the last couple of months, she has attacked my male dog many times, though she has not seriously injured him yet.
He had a growth spurt and is now a little larger than she is. She has always been the "alpha" and my only guess is she is feeling threatened by him now. The attacks are unprovoked. The male is a very laid-back dog.
I am of the mindset that animals are not disposable and will do whatever necessary to find a proper home for Callie.
It has been a heart-breaking decision to make, but I can no longer tolerate the fighting and I have no way to keep them separately.
So she is attacking a newer dog - and she came first?
This is not a fair treatment for her. She needs to come first in this situation.
What sort of things have you done so far?
I have some suggestions for you but I'd like to know what type of training you've gone thru so far.
They MAY seem unprovoked to you, however, a usually sound dog never attacks unprovoked.
She and the male have lived happily together for two and a half years.
She is very possessive of me and my daughter and nails him whenever he comes near us. She gives no warning - no posturing, no hard stare, nothing. I do not have time to give a correction. My daughter can no longer play with the dogs.
She knows and obeys basic commands, but goes right into the "red zone" unpredictably and I can not control it AT ALL.
We always take her down to the ground when she does this, but she always does it again.

I'm a strong beleiver in establishing alpha in the pack. I ALWAYS give the alpha (Simba) his treat first, his toy first, his meal first, etc. He gets first dibs on everything. Nala is second, Kiara is last.
They established the rank on their own, but I just backed it up.
No, he doesn't get special treatment. They've been together for two and a half years, so it's not like he's new. She was only six months old when he came.
I considered giving him up, but Callie has the best chance of being adopted. He's a good dog, but isn't active. He doesn't play. He's a large, mixed shelter dog. No one would want him.
Callie loves to play and would probably make an excellent hunting dog. I really wish I could place her with someone who hunts. She needs to work.
