About digital cameras...
I'm thinking about getting a new camera soon, and I have a question: which brand do you prefer, Canon or Nikon? I've heard that they are both the best ones...
I like the Canon Poweshot S2 IS (I know that some PTers use it) and I've seen a really nice Nikon too (I think is was a 6.2 mp camera, with a 8x zoom, or something like that)
I really need a new camera, if I want to improve my photography... So, I'd like something good, but not too proffesional...

Cannon, Cannon all the way! Better quality!

My husband has a Canon ???- it is sooooo complicated, but takes great pictures once you figure out the settings. I have an Olympus FE110- and it is very simple, takes great pictures and videos, and is quite reasonably priced. I have extra memory so I can get about 250 huge high-resolution pictures before having to download. Only drawback- take quicktime .mov movies, so you will need a converter to change to .avi before you can use most editing programs, but I downloaded a freebie one that works great.

Canon, definately ^^ Its not that complicated once you get used to them ^^

I guess I'm in the minority but Nikon is my top choice and will be when I get a more proffesional SLR camera.

Then I think it could be a Canon! The Powershot S2 IS seems to be perfect for me... Now I only need to check if it fits my budget  . I will go to Walmart and see all the Canons and the Nikons, though....

I've had Nikons and I like them the best. But maybe if I could afford one like Kay's......

I know a lot of people use Canon, but a couple professional photographers that I've seen on other boards rely heavily on Nikon. I think for the most bang for your buck, Canon probably rules, but Nikons can take SUPERB pictures.

I have to vote Nikon. I compared a Canon and Nikon before I bought my new one. The 2 were both SLRs so not exactly what your looking for but between those 2 the Nikon had better image quality even though the Canon had the higher pixel ratio 6.2 vs I think 8.

Nikon :D. Do you remember what the Nikon camera was?
I have been researching lately and got down to the Canon rebel and the Nikon D50 and have decided to go with the Nikon.
