My sister-in-law went into labor at 3 am on thursday (which was my birthday). We were all hoping she'd deliver on that day, but she didn't. Her water didn't break until 3:30 am on friday.
Friday, April 14, 2006 at 11:00 am Joshua Allen was born. 20 inches long and weighing 7 lbs. 10 oz.
Here I am holding my nephew for the first time. (Sorry the picture is dark- the room was dark and he didn't like the flash.)

Thank you all.
He really gave us a big scare sunday night. He was sleeping in my arms for about an hour and a half. When he woke up his daddy, Bobby, took him. About a minute after Bobby took him he stopped breathing, turned purple, and started shaking. My mother-in-law and Bobby got him breathing again and then they got him to the emergency room.
The hospital ran some tests and monitored him. They sent him home early monday morning. He's been doing fine since then.
I've been very impressed at what an amazing father Bobby has turned out to be. Lindsay will be a great mother too, but right now she's having a hard time. I'm so glad that she has Bobby and her parents. Lindsay got pregnant just a month after she and Bobby were married, and they had to move in with her parents for financial reasons. That ended up being the biggest blessing.
Congratulations, Auntie! You are going to have so much fun with him.
There just isn't anything like it! I am glad that everything is alright and that Joshua is now home.
