Russian Blue

Hi, my name is Kass and I currently have one very spoiled Russian Blue cat named Nakita. Here's my best attempt at getting a profile of the two of us. She is very small at 5 pounds, but she can squirm her way out of any situation (I call her the ferret). The second picture is to show off her beautiful emerald eyes:

I found PT in December 2002 when I was searching for support and answers when Nakita had some problems with her spay surgery. Here's the original thread: On the verge of tears (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=17963) Because I had such a warm welcome I decided to stick around for awhile and here I am 3 years later. Wow, that time went fast! I usually don't have much time to post because of my busy life, so I'm still trying to make it to my first Pillar after all this time. ;)
I'm a true Gemini in my 30's, part Finnish & part Scottish/Irish but 100% proud Canadian.:D I have two loves in my life that I am totally devoted to - Nakita and Rob. Nakita has been in my life for the last 3 years and Rob the last 10 years.

At the same time I found PT, I also purchased a century old schoolhouse that I am currently renovating. This was a very small house with very large renovation projects. It's a huge amount of work but we'll be proud when we finish in another 2 years (and our wallets will also be doing the happy dance). I'm learning a great deal....it's Kass' Extreme Home Makeover - The Long Edition. ;)
Other than my home renovations, I'm passionate about photography, health/nutrition, environmental issues and my cottage. The property has been in my family for over 70 years and I call that my 'real' home. When I'm not renovating my city property, we're renovating my cottage since we have 5 buildings to maintain. As you can imagine, between the two properties, I don't have much money to travel but hope to change that in the future when I strike it rich in the lottery. :D
When we get control of the renovations, I hope to add another feline to the household to keep Nakita company. We also have a 5 year plan to move out of the city, and if this takes place, we'll probably add a dog to the family as well. :)
