This is my friend's dog, he was only at the Family&Friend meeting for a little bit, and never got time to ask him what kind of dog he is. I think the dog is new... I can't figure out what breed exact he is. He is way too big and has way too long of fur for a Husky, and glossier, longer hair then a Malamute. I was thinking Malamute/Afgan or Husky/Afgan, but, what do you guys think?

Could he be a King Shepherd?
I know Mals are not accepted in that color but I don't know if they occur in that color.

Yes red is an acceptable color, copied from the breed standard:
Color
The usual colors range from light gray through intermediate shadings to black, sable, and shadings of sable to red. Color combinations are acceptable in undercoats, points, and trimmings. The only solid color allowable is all white. White is always the predominant color on underbody, parts of legs, feet, and part of face markings. A white blaze on the forehead and/or collar or a spot on the nape is attractive and acceptable. The Malamute is mantled, and broken colors extending over the body or uneven splashing are undesirable.

I know Alaskan Malamutes, and that is one ;).
My parents/grandparents bred them for years.
They come in long, medium, and short coats.
All colors variations.

Thank you all. Any other opinions? I really don't think he's Malamute at all, but if you guys say so ;)

Personally I think the dog in the picture looks a lot like this dog (http://petoftheday.com/talk/showthread.php?t=25427&highlight=wooly) but I do think it's a malamute not a husky as there are woolie mals also.

This dog seems to have more of the head structure of a mal, definately not a woolie husky.
i'm pretty sure he's a malamute. he looks like a woolie malamute. he's BEAUTIFUL whatever he is. :D

My first impression of him in the truck was Mal, he's wayyyyy bigger than a sibe, and his face has the mal markings. I've seen pictures of wooly huskies but not long furred mals before - beautiful dog!

Yes, definatly to big to be huskey, I think that there might be some rough collie in there somewhere with all thet malamute. I don't think it's purebred.

Malamute in my opinion. He looks kind of bigger then a purebred husky.

The face, colour, and coat (it comes like that) looks like a Malamute.
