Kayleigh's dental surgery went fine yesterday. They pulled out a massive molar. She actually needed stitches in her gums once it was out. Those will fall out on their own, thank goodness! There is no safe way to put your hand in Kayleigh's mouth! She has to eat soft food and take antibiotics for five more days. She's loving the special meals. Her bloodwork was perfectly normal too! The vet says the rest of her teeth aren't in great shape, but he doesn't see anything else problematic. Kayleigh is a chewer and I imagine when she was starving she probably chewed on all sorts of things that damaged her teeth.
A couple of pics from Sunday. The antibiotics were making her feel much better.

I almost felt bad about taking her in. She was so happy on Sunday, but the tooth had to go. It would have just caused her more problems and pain once the antibiotics ran out.
