Just found this on another website i was visiting, apparently the Phillipines is one asian country that does protect dogs against abuse and cruelty, but are now thinking of dog farming and killing these dogs for meat, anyway the whole story is on the website, please email a letter and help speak for those who cannot speak for themselves, these poor animals will suffer tremendously before death, as many of you will know, so please send on your letter of support against this and help the fate of the poor dogs in Asia. THANK YOU.

The website is http://www.animalsasia.org/index.php?module=3&menupos=8&lg=enPlease note there is a very disturbing pic on this website which will upset anyone, but it is the reality of what they are doing to these poor animals. please speak out against this.

I'm going to send one. Although, isn't abuseing and killing a cow for food the same as killing a dog? I'm just pointing out that there's no way to justify either, and that by supporting Factory Farms for general meat animals is supporting it for any animal. I'm vegitarian because I refuse to support and slaughter toward dogs and other domestic animals, but killing one type of animal is no different from killing another.

Thank you for sending a letter, I respect your opinion, but my aim for starting this thread is not to start any controversy really, but to help these poor creatures, you have a good point, however did you visit the website and see the disgusting picture of the cruelty inflicted on these animals before death, if not please do , but be prepared to be upset, I do believe in my country anyhow that cows etc are killed humanely, that is really my issue with the whole thing.

I am opposed to any method of killing any animal for meat if it is not done humanely, and I think this is more what the outrage is about.

Also because Dogs have been mans best friend for so long, have done so many good things for humans, they are used for Bomb dogs, Blind guide Dogs, at the airport for detecting drugs etc etc, the list goes on and on, I suppose that is why is seems more abhorrent than killing a cow or sheep, but I do agree with you on priniciple.

I looked at it. It's awful! The dogs are tourtured before dying. But I was just saying that the same thing happens to other animals and people think nothing of it. I didn't mean for it to sound like I was disagreeing with you. I was agreeing, but adding a little. :)

Yes we are both on the same side, i understand that :) but i don't honestly think pigs and cows and sheep are tortured at the freezing works, I still would however say that their conditions are not that great and if anything we need to improve all of that as well, but as you pointed out clearly this is total torture and is disgusting isn't it?

I was hoping for more responses than I have had, if we stand by and do not voice our opinions this will just go ahead and these poor dogs will suffer tremendously. :(

In most Asian countries there isn't the right type of environment for raising cattle or pigs and the such. Dog to them are just another type of livestock. They need to eat just as anybody else. If you want to do something think about this, Humans eat about 2.4 pounds of food everyday and in the world we are producing enough food for 5.7 pounds per person per day! If we want to stop the slaughter of any animal, we've got to start getting governments to share rather than hoard. We've got to stop caring about what country can pay the most for food and start caring about everybody getting enough to eat.

I am fully aware of this but some of you are missing my reasons for posting this, it is to stop the cruelty that is happening before they are killed, I understand the need for them to eat like anyone else and that if pigs and sheep and cows are not farm-able as you say,( I have no knowledge about that, )then I can see why dogs are just a means to produce food for them, that DOES NOT excuse them from torturing them beforehand, that is what I am upset mostly about and want to stop it,I cannot condone any form of cruelty to animals, no matter what country or reason, nothing justifys that IMO if writing a simple letter helps to do this then i am all for that ONE HUNDRED PERCENT aren't you?

I wanted to add i certainly agree with you, there is enough food in the world for everyone, if it were shared out properly.
