Chase playing chase--he's well named!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v38/Glacier1998/Dogs%202006/sillychase.jpg
Chase waiting for Heyoka to catch up. It's hard to play chase when you are way faster than the other dog!
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v38/Glacier1998/Dogs%202006/happychase.jpg
But he's a happy boy any way! Even when he has to slow his pace down for his friends.

Heyoka after his attempts to catch Chase. He had fun anyway!

Goldie watching the boys play. She doesn't play chase. She likes to wrestle, but only with Chase.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v38/Glacier1998/Dogs%202006/bendycolgie.jpg
You can see why she doesn't play chase. Running at any speed is a little beyond what Goldie's front legs will let her do. Remarkably, the front legs aren't the ones that cause her pain. It's her back hips that she takes medication for!

"Those boys are crazy, anyway, Mom. Plus if I don't try to run with them, I can stay with you and get more attention!"

Glacier, great pictures again, and I really enjoyed them all. Was just bowled over by Heyoka's wonderful happy face. BUT, when I got to the last picture I just could not help but give a little laugh out loud with joy. :D That is the sweetest face. I just bet you couldn't stop yourself from bending down and giving her a great big hug after taking that picture. :)

I give Goldie lots of hugs. For a long time she wouldn't tolerate that so now that she will, I'm always snuggling her!

Goldie is such the looker. I bet she gets whatever she wants, who could resist those sad puppy dog looks of hers. :)

Don't you just love what bones do for their health, I mean look at those pearly whites. :)

You're crew is just absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

Heyoka actually has a note on his file at the vet that his "teeth are abnormally white". He's always gnawing on a bone or something. This week it's bison hooves. We had a bunch given to us by some hunter friends. I think they are repulsive so naturally the dogs think they are greatest things ever! ;)

You're so lucky to have such a selection as well, bison, moose etc... all we got here is venison besides the regular beef & such from the grocery store. :D

I really love those close-ups ! GREAT photos -- they look like they are having so much fun. You have way more snow than I do now -- I'm in Minnesota and we have had the warmest winter on record in many many years (I am so NOT complaining) so we have very little snow left. So all the snow you have plus the dogs made for some great photos!

He's such an handsome boy! :D I LOVE seeing pics of him!

Are malamutes easy to raise? I've been debating to get a Malamute someday when I move out to the country.

Depends. You are used to a husky, so you have some idea what a Malamute would be like. They share the same stubborn, hard to train, how do I get out of here traits! Malamutes can be escape artists and need secure fencing. They tend to be lousy off leash. Recall is not their strong point. They also tend to be dog aggressive, especially to the same sex. A bored Malamute is nothing but trouble! They don't need quite as much exercise as a Husky, but they do need to keep their brains and bodies occupied or they will amuse themselves! They generally aren't good with smaller animals, cats, or livestock.

They are also snuggly, sweet and quite people orientated. Heyoka loves to just hang out with us. He likes kids, although he's too big for wee ones. He knocks them over! I've never met a malamute who had any idea how big they were! Heyoka thinks he is a lap dog!

I love them, but like any breed, they aren't for everyone!
