My sis is having her surgery on Tuesday. She found a wonderful surgeon, after one from UCLA refused to even touch her during the exam.

Huh? What kind of dr. is this that refused to touch her? Gawd!

Some AH that prodded her with a tongue depressor. I have his name and plan to drop a dime.

Best wishes for your sister, RICHARD. She's a very brave gal to do this - but I can't recall if it is preventative or if there is actually something "there".

Whichever it is, prayers are going out to her and her family.

Just a suggestion:
Keep that dime warm & ready - but in your POCKET till after Sis is
treated and out of any danger ...

You can't be sure who the Touchless Depressor guy might know.

Best PT Wishes & Prayers to Sis and her whole Family for a Pawzitive outcome!!!!!

Dear PT Friends, would you please say a prayer for my sister-in-law Karen and her father. The last time I saw him was on Christmas, and he was talkative and cheerful. My brother told me on Saturday that he is much more confused now; drives even though the doctor has said he shouldn't; and that he sometimes forgets to eat or to shower if he isn't reminded. He receives home-delivered meals. He is in his late 80s and made an amazing recovery from an infection with the "flesh-eating" bacterium about 10 or 12 years ago. It makes me sad to think about him failing.

Thank you,
Elyse

I received a very distressing email from a friend today. Her niece's best friend Breanna, who is a senior in high school, has been stricken with a mysterious life threatening illness. It started out a couple of weeks ago like a cold, then progressed to a flu-like illness and she was admitted to the hospital. The doctors don't know what's wrong with her, as she's not responding to any kind of treatment, and is now in ICU on life support. They wanted to transfer her to Duke Medical Center, but the doctors at Duke didn't feel she would survive the transfer. Unless she makes a miraculous turn around and starts to respond, then the doctors say she will die.
This poor girl needs prayers and a miracle. Please all, send some prayers and positive vibes to Breanna Fink in NC, and some for her family as well.
Thanks a bunch.

Amazingly, Breanna continues to cling to life. She had surgery on Saturday to remove a mass that was pressing on her lung, and Sunday took a turn for the worse and crashed. The decision was then made that she had to be transferred to Duke, and she crashed again during the chopper ride. They brought her back from death's door again. She is now on a lung bypass machine at Duke, with the hopes that her lungs will have a chance to recover this way (both lungs have collapsed). There is still no diagnosis and the doctors are treating it as a massive infection of unknown origin. Her tests have been sent to major medical centers thruout the country in the hopes that someone somewhere can identify what it is. Right now they are concerned with internal bleeding since she is on such high doses of blood thinners to allow her blood to circulate thru all the machines that are keeping her alive. She is still facing weeks, and even months of hospitalization, even if they can identify this illness.
Again, please send a prayer and some positive vibes to Breanna and her family.
Thanks!

Prayers are going out to everyone who needs them.

I need some prayers for my boss. This morning he felt very dizzy and strange so one of the office workers called 911 and the paramedics came and took him to the hospital. Several weeks ago he had the flu and he also had an ear infection and was on antibiotics for this. He's also very hard of hearing in one of his ears. The last I heard is that it may be vertigo but I think that they're still not sure.

I'm glad that he's getting himself checked out and hopefully it's nothing serious. He's been on a new diet and gets up early to work out and then works late so I don't think he's been getting enough sleep either. He needs to give more responsibility to the much younger vice president of the company. I hope that he'll learn to slow down and relax more because he's not getting any younger. Thanks in advance.

I know I don't get around here much anymore..I've been busy but anyways tomorrow I have to present what will most likely be the most important presentation in my high school and maybe even college career. This presentation is in my Ag Leadership class and is a Team Demo for State Finals. Our topic is Dog Behavior Testing in shelters and rescues. We're up against another team who really, and I'm not just saying this, REALLY doesn't deserve to go. I really don't feel like getting into why, there's so much crap involved with it. Our teacher has to choose who goes to state finals where we could win money(scholarships possibly!) and a great thing to put on a resume. So can you guys please pray our teacher picks us above the other team to go?

Thank you!! It's much appreciated. I've read all recent prayers and will be thinking of all who need them. (((hugs)))

Thanks to all that have offered up prayers to Breanna. This girl continues her very courageous uphill battle and fight for life. She is still at Duke and on the lung bypass machine, and the doctors have not yet determined when they will attempt to take her off with the hopes that her lungs will have rested enough for her to be able to breathe on her own.
Needless to say, her family is at their wits end, and totally drained, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Continued prayers for Breanna and her parents are all any of us can do right now.

And Elyse - thank you for the candles that you have been lighting for Breanna thru all of this. How very thoughtful of you!

My grandma and aunt are both having surgery on Tuesday to remove skin cancer from their nose. My grandma will then have plastic surgery on Wednesday to rebuild her nose.

Grandma is a trooper and while she is calm about the initial surgery (it's her second one), she's really upset about the plastic surgery. She says she's afraid she'll end up looking like Michael Jackson. :p

Some of you might have heard/read about this if you live in the Chicago area. A woman was found dead in the trunk of her car. Her killer confessed to his attorney, who went and found the car and the woman inside. Turned out they were the parents of one of my sister-in-law's middle school students. She has another student who has post-traumatic stress and is hyperactive -- he has a nearly impossible time staying focused in school. They come to school with so much in their home lives, it's often hard for them to learn. So- if you could say a prayer for my sister-in-law Karen and her middle schoolers. Some good news - They are having the school musical in a few weeks and that is going well, and then right after that the eighth grade trip to Washington, D.C. Every year there are a few eighth graders who can't afford the trip and that just breaks my heart. But it is always a great experience for those who go.

Thanks,

I've come here too much lately asking for your prayers, and this time it's for my brother Charlie.
He's 74 years old with a lot of serious health issues, and he had a routine surgery a couple of weeks ago for a cervical fusion. He was home and doing good, and he sounded great when I talked to him on Easter.
Today he had an appointment with his primary care doc, and while there he suddenly lost all feeling, turned gray, and collapsed right in the office. He was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital. His blood pressure had dropped to a dangerous 60/40 - and he suffers from high blood pressure.
He had an EKG and CT scan done at the hospital, but so far I haven't heard the results, but he has regained the feeling that he lost. I just don't know what's happening and it's so frustrating!!
Every time the phone rings, I nearly jump out of my skin, and I'm so afraid to answer it. I just can't even fathom the thought of losing him since we are the only 2 left. It was 5 years ago this month that we lost our other brother.
Please say a prayer that he can get thru this. He's a tough old bird, but he really has me scared this time!
Thanks for listening. I'm alone this week since my crew is on vacation, and I needed to "talk" to someone!

Update: Just talked to Charlie - he's home from the hospital and sounds great! They ran all kinds of tests and can't find anything wrong, so they don't know what happened. His neurosurgeon that performed the recent surgery has been contacted, as they think it could be related to that - maybe a temporary massive nerve problem, since he was completely paralyzed for a period of time. But that doesn't explain that drastic drop in blood pressure - to me anyway. He scared the daylights out of everyone - including himself - but he's back and ready to get on with life. Like he told me - he's got too much he still wants to do and isn't ready to check out yet!

Mary - thanks a bunch! You're a real gem!

Dear ones... Would you say a prayer for my brother Ray. He changed jobs 15 months ago after the family business finally fizzed out. There has been one round of layoffs, which he made it through but took a pay cut. He has a meeting on Wednesday and it sounds like this may be another round of layoffs.

My job is still intact for now but the union is down to 7,000 active members. If it keeps falling I'm not sure how much longer they will keep me on. God is good to me, though - he has never let one door closed without opening another.

Hi,

I think I am going to be selfish and ask for some PT prayers for myself, this time.

As some of you know, I am trying to get the court to make me the admin for
my mom's estate.

We are going to court on the 30th - and again on the 26 of May.

Yesterday I was sent a court filing that made me so mad that I could not see straight. Without going into details, my two brothers and sister wrote out staements that were, in retrospect, pretty funny. I was accused of beating up my brother and telling him to move out and not contributing to the householdl, lying and not contruting to keeping the house going..

The person that claims to be my older sister - my mom made us co-executors- told everyone, "she didn't want to be involved in anything' yet, she wants the whole estate to be sold and she wants her chunk of money!:rolleyes::D

I just need your prayers and good vibes to help me get thru this.

I am really sad and devastated because of some info I got about members of my family-I have one brother who is a monumental eff up, I got the story about his problems in the last few days, my older sister, who now wants her money-lost 40.000 dollars by playing investor and my other brother who has gotten into a fraud situation with the city and much more.

Hey, your family are saints compared to mine.;):D

Thanks for the kinds thoughts and please pray that the truth will work for me.
I can't ask god for help because I don't always listen to him, so I have to settle for the next best thing!

PET TALK!

Thanks!

Don't be stubborn! - God always listens to Help requests. - Just Ask! ;)

Round up some Friends and Neighbors who KNOW all that you did for Mom -
ask them to testify in court about how you were the Good Son.

You need to find a GOOD estate lawyer ... ask your friends and any other lawyers
that you've dealt with for a recommendation.

When you get to court; check the back row ...
MOM just might be there to keep her *eye* on things.

We have a great lawyer. MY sis was in court for her divorce and a man comes over to talk with her and my mom...."You look sad!", he says. They chat and when they go into court, sis and mom find out that he is her HUSBAND'S rep!

The divorce went well (as well as a divorce could be!) and she grabs a card from him and he recommended a probate lawyer he has in the office. This guy is golden and has earned every penny, so far.

It may go to third partyarbitration, someone who will settle things, they are appointed by the city/state and that would be better than having the "dark side" run the business!

I have asked my god for help, but sometimes I feel he has his hands full with people that don't have the means or ability to get help.

And, I wasn't the 'good son' I have to credit the two youngest sibs also, seems like they have more common sense than us old folks!

Thanks for listening!:D

Sorry to hear you are having to go through this Richard. Of coarse, prays are on their way.. My take on it would be to sell out, divide up the money, take my share and get as far away from those people as you can get. They are showing their true colors..GREED! Just make sure you leave a will leaving everything you have to charity or somebody who deserves it!

I am afraid I am slipping into a severe depression. This is the first time I have actually admitted it. I am feeling totally desperate about the fact that I have not found a job and can't pay my bills. My unemployment runs out end of May and I am so scared, and I'm barely surviving on that. I can barely by food, and I can't afford my medication. Sometimes, I have to decide what I need - food, or medication. I am so scared... I don't know what to do. I have very little motivation and I basically feel housebound because I can't afford to do anything - not even drive because I'm scared to run out of gas in my car. Tilly and Nutmeg are still ok, as I always make sure I get food for them to eat. I just want to find a job and I am noticing that even the jobs that I could apply for are dwindling. I am not sleeping, I'm not eating properly.. I feel like my life is in shambles.

Saying extra prayers for you, and sending some ((Hugs)) your way. You've been on my mind a lot lately. I hope that things are improving for you.

For those who've been following my daily migraines - which have been happening for months now - I go tomorrow to see the endocrinologist for test results. Every doc I have (working with 4 now) feels sure it's hyperparathyroidism, and getting it under control will get the headaches under control. I hope for SOME news tomorrow.

Please, if anyone has a prayer to spare... I'm desperate.

Instead of working with 4 docs, I am now working with 6... *sigh*

I do indeed have hypercalcemia caused by hyperparathyroidism. Part of the "symptoms" are kidney stones. A year ago I had 3 teeeny tiny (under 3mm) stones in my left kidney. As of today, I have at least half a dozen in each kidney... some are over 1cm in size (One is 1.2 cm). I've been home all week with a terrible migraine that my meds aren't touching and with my kidneys killing me. I went to the ER today for CT scans. My job is getting really frustrated as I've gone over the allotted days I was permitted with my FMLA coverage... and still have nearly a month until my surgery. It's a bad situation all the way around. Each day another "symptom" rears its ugly head. Could ya'll keep up the prayers?

There was a Surgeon called in for another patient, and he studied Kia's x-rays ---
said there was NOTHINNG that could be done surgically that wouldn't just make
things worse. So she's to be on SOFT Foods for three weeks or so and
*NO* Ruff~Housing allowed.

She'll have antibiotics and pain pills to slow her down a bit;
then some TIME will let the jaw heal itself.

They will pull the just installed catheter and start to *wake her up* from
being anesthetized for the x-rays.
She's headed for HOME as soon as she can *walk* out of the ER Department on her own.

THANKS, God!!

Dear ones... Would you say a prayer for my brother Ray. He changed jobs 15 months ago after the family business finally fizzed out. There has been one round of layoffs, which he made it through but took a pay cut. He has a meeting on Wednesday and it sounds like this may be another round of layoffs.

Thanks,
Elyse

Update ... At his new job, he sold a big remodel to a client from our (now closed) family business. Was he ever happy!

My mom got a call at 2:30 am - her youngest sister, Cathy, has been in hospital with pneumonia for several days, and then took a bad turn. Cathy's son was called in Nova Scotia to get there ASAP to say his goodbyes. Meanwhile, Cathy got a huge dose of an antibiotic, and seems to be rallying - and is feisty as she argued about her son coming: "Why did you call him? He has to work!" etc

PLEASE prayers for Cathy that she will continue to rally and heal...THANK YOU!

I have two requests tonight.

One - my brother-in-law's cousin Ryan, who is a college student on an internship, was involved in a car accident. This happened on Tuesday. He was in the back seat. He was initially in the ICU, moved to a general floor, but his internal injuries are still being assessed.

Two - my fifth grade teacher's husband Fred was burned on his hands and face at work. He is out of the hospital now. His face has healed well, but his hands are painful and slow to heal. He is taking a lot of pain meds, which have made him very nauseated and don't help the pain as much as he would like.

Thank you,
Elyse

Prayers to you, RICHARD - and to cassiesmom, I hope both Ryan and Fred heal fully and quickly.

News on my aunt: x-rays this afternoon showed less fluid in the lungs; they have added blood thinners to the mix to help reduce the fluid. Last night she needed 21 liters of oxygen; today she was down to 6.

She is not out of the woods yet, but there is progress. THANK YOU for your prayers so far and any more you can spare.

Prayers to all those that need and want them here at PT and beyond.

From my cousin's wife - he is in Winnipeg, she is keeping everyone informed from their home base in Halifax.

Hi again - no real news to report. This is good. Cathy has held on through another night and seems to be continuing to make small improvements especially since Brad has been there. She's a little less agitated and more responsive. They are going to take more Xrays today and see where things are at but the results won't be in for hours.
I will keep you posted as I learn more.
Take care - prayers seem to be working.

Thank you for those who are praying - keep 'em coming!

Good news.

"OK - things are looking better. Cathy is down to 1 litre of oxygen which is good. Her lungs are clearing. They decided to wait to do another xray until tomorrow or possibly later just to let things progress a bit more. I really didn't understand why they are waiting. But everyone is encouraged by what they see. She is still under constant care but more lucid, less agitated and Brad arranged for a TV for her so now she has CNN.
All very encouraging news. Pass it on!"

Thank you so much. I never remember to come to this thread on a regular basis and I am so touched that you thought of me.

I had an interview today but I don't think I'm meant to have this job. I am also doing a job search club which is teaching me new techniques that I am finding really positive.

Other than that, I am doing ok. When I allow myself to think about it, I can feel panic in my throat so I think I am in a little bit of denial, but I hope that I can get through it.

Update because I haven't given one lately. My teacher's husband is doing MUCH better. He goes to the outpatient burn clinic for dressing changes. His hands are healing slowly. He did have surgery once to remove some excess scar tissue. Unlike healthy skin, scar tissue is hard and tight, so they have to take it off to help the new skin continue to heal properly. Next step is for the doctors to determine whether he will need skin grafts to his hands. I'll keep you posted.

Thank you,

I don't want to post this generally, 'cause it really, in the grand scheme of things, isn't a big deal and maybe it's a little selfish. I'd like prayers for my upcoming procedures. My family has a history of TERRIBLE teeth. I just got back from the dentist and the last molar on my bottom jaw (which already had a substantial crown) has a severe abcess. There is also no bone left in that section of my jaw and there have been some other teeth removed from my lower. I am on a medication for psoriatic arthritis (an autoimmune disease) which makes me not a good candidate for dental implants. I am seeing a specialist trained at the Mayo Clinic to consult on how to save, and possibly rebuild, my lower jaw and teeth. That last molar (I do have other teeth, the whole front LOOKS normal) was important structurally so this is a blow. My upper jaw is fine - I'll have to be thankful for that! Maybe it will help me lose weight!

Thanks for any thoughts...Maggie:love:

Can anyone spare a few extra prayers?

I just learned today that a kid (well, I guess we aren't truly "kids" anymore) that I graduated High School with almost two weeks ago was diagnosed with Leukemia earlier this week. I was more of a casual acquaintance and did not know him all that well, but one of my friends is his best friend. This "kid" is a son, a brother, a husband, and a father. This past year he has really stepped up and changed into a great person.

Its such a surreal feeling. At this age we are supposed to feel invincible...

The Ladder of LIfe.

I stop in to read about who needs prayers and offer them to those who need them, It puts things into perspective for me.

I have always looked at life as a giant ladder that goes up into the air.

There are always people above, and below the rung of the ladder that I am on.

So,
When I look up and see the people that have it a little better than me, I look down and see that there are TONS of people that aren't in as good a position as I am. It's not a "I have it better than everyone" attitude. It just makes me feel thankful that my life is not as complicated or rough as the next guy.

IT's a pretty simple way to look at things, but effective when I feel like I want to biatch and moan about MY problems.

Thinking about you all and hope tomorrow is a better day!

She's currently in the hospital and my vet diagnosed her with mild pancreatitis on Wed. I was trying to treat her at home but she was still vomiting and not eating and was even slightly dehydrated even though I gave her 100cc of fluids this morning. I brought her back to the vets and I decided have her hospitalized. I hope to be able to bring her home tomorrow. The urgent care vet called me tonight and said that she was open mouth breathing and so far she hasn't vomited. I know she's very stressed out so I hope that I didn't make the wrong decision.:( Thanks in advance.

PLEASE need all the PT Prayers possible

I have known John and Meredith for a few years. They were instrumental in starting the organization below after John miraculously survived a two-years-to-live cancer prognosis and went into complete remission.

http://www.wellspringcalgary.com/about.asp

On June 11, there was a grand opening of Carma House, a new facility that was gifted to Wellspring!
http://www.wellspringcalgary.com/media/Opening%20press%20release.pdf

ONE HOUR before the opening, John was told his cancer had come back. He has been through a very aggressive and brutal chemotherapy - which improved the bloodwork results - but now he is intubated, in isolation ICU, his lungs full of fluid. Everyone is doing everything they can - and they can do NO more chemo until John pulls through this stage.

Meredith says that the prayers are palpable, and they are coming from all over. PT Prayers are amazing, please send them out.

John is 56, a wonderful husband, dad, survivor and just really good guy who turned his own past struggle into a vital resource for others.

Marilyn called. The CT scan today showed a fist sized mass in Roger's small intestine. He's scheduled for a colonoscopy tomorrow to do a biopsy on it and then surgery on Wednesday to remove it. They are planning to remove at least 3 inches of intestine.

Everyone is hoping for another flare up of diverticulitis.

On the bright side, they have been able to reduce the pain he's been in.

Marilyn called. The CT scan today showed a fist sized mass in Roger's small intestine. He's scheduled for a colonoscopy tomorrow to do a biopsy on it and then surgery on Wednesday to remove it. They are planning to remove at least 3 inches of intestine.
Will keep Andy's dad & the rest of the family in my prayers on Wed., Kim.

Here's hoping they only make a SMALL hole;
and they make a good 'splice' when they hook the ends back up!

Best Wishes for a Speedy recovery! ;)

I had to put my cat down in April and I have lost many pets through out the years. Most of them due to old age - 12 + years.....anyway here is a poem which is my moms favourite for all pets who have passed...I know it is not a prayer but it definately is meaningful....

Send this Web Page to a friend! (click here)
Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

The couple that I cat sit for (I've known them for about 15 years) lost a son today in a fatal car crash. He was driving in his car early this morning and lost control going around a curve. He went head on into a big ditch and somehow the car came up and hit a tree and that's when he went flying out the back window. Ken leaves behind a wife and two young sons. We are all devastated. :(:(

He just got off working graveyard shift and was about 4 km from home when it happened. This is #2. #1 was a kind man who was the son-in-law of a lovely lady on the 11th floor of my building. That parents are back; the funeral was on Sunday. Over 300 people packed the church and the whole community came together to help out the family. Because the children are out of school, a different church volunteer shows up every day to take kids out and show them a good time and this will continue until September - and of course there is the food...miles and miles of food showing up at the doorstep. It's amazing what a community can accomplish and thoughts are turned to others.

Roger is now home from the hospital. He had a Chest CAT scan and PET scan done before he was discharged. He has to have a bone marrow test and Nuclear test (to make sure his heart and organs are strong enough for Chemo) still.

Sending prayers and love to those of you who posted before me. I have been looking at this thread since I joined but never had an occasion to ask for prayer. . .until now.

My husband Barry has sustained a nerve injury in his back that is affecting his right leg. We're not entirely sure what happened and he will probably have to have an MRI in the next week or so to see exactly what is going on, but he is in a lot of pain. So far he is taking anti-inflammatory meds and doing physical therapy to see if that can begin the healing process - it's only been a few days, but he is still hurting badly. I feel very helpless in the face of this and so does he.

I feel that if he is in the good hearts of the PT folks, he will benefit by the healing thoughts and prayers that will go out about his injury.

Thank you all for being there. . .

I could use some prayers, we are apartment hunting again and this time THANKFULLY money isn't the issue but we have some issues in the credit department that are making it hard to find a place that will rent to us. Nevvie was dx with a vaccine induced fibrosarcoma in December of 2008, and underwent surgery to remove the cancer. It came back in May. He underwent surgery to remove it again this July and is on his second day of radition today. Tomorrow, Wednesday, will be his 3rd day. He has 17 more days to go. Each day requires complete anesthesia. Nevvie is staying at the Care Center from Monday am until Friday pm, and then returns again that next Monday, until treatment is complete. This is VERY hard on a 10 year old precious boy, and his meowmie.

Prayers for a successful treatment, and limited complications would be appreciated.

Had the family meeting with Roger's oncologist yesterday.

Marilyn writes:
8/12/09
Ok, we know: It's non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. It has not spread outside the abdomen, and we are grateful for that. It does affect the colon, mysterium? (abdomen area), and abdomen. It's intermediate grade, a Stage II, which means it is localized in the lower part of the body, but still affecting an organ outside of the surgical site...that is, the abdomen, I think Dr. described.

Either way, chemo will begin next Tuesday...a 6-hour visit, as a number of drugs are infused the first time. Roger has to get through Monday's port installation, and then, the journey begins.

Dr. says this bowel lymphoma is still the better one to get...It is 80%-90% curable.

8/13/09
We just received word that Roger's stress test from last Friday shows some 'issues', and anesthesiologist will not do Monday's surgery without a heart cath! That will be tomorrow morning.

Roger is one frustrated guy right now, sick of tests and procedures. Please pray hard for his spirit. The port will go in on Monday, as of now.

I took him to his Neurologist this morning and he can't DRIVE for 6 months. which is a definate hardship to get to work and etc when he doesn't have anyone that lives near him to help out - everyone is an hour away.
he could really use some positive energy and prayers...
Thanks...

He's doing well on the regular meds and has had no relapses.
But is running into a mess with work. He didn't go into details just said it is going to be stressful. Please pray they work with him. With his medical history it will be hard for him to be able to find another job with benefits.

Prayers going out to my sister-in-law Maureen, that she may find peace and understanding after the death of her only child, Kevin.
Yesterday was the 5 year anniversary of Kevin's unexpected death at the age of 40, and only 5 months after the death of his father (my brother), at the age of 64. This was a double blow to the whole family. Maureen is as devastated today, as the day it happened. I can only hope that someday God will give her an answer.
So RIP Kevin, and John too. I know that you are together again now.

I could really use some prayers. My dearest K'Cee is in kidney failure. She's been in the hospital since Saturday. They are going to rerun tests this morning and I'm anxious yet dreading the news.

I keep reminding myself, "Faith of a mustard seed" ... but what if that's not enough?

I am terrified and heartsick.

Thank you guys, too.

I got a call from the vet this morning saying that they'd re-run the bloodwork and all her levels are back down to NORMAL. (Saturday, the BUN wouldn't even register because it was so high.) He said that she was "amazing us." I asked if he could estimate what percentage of kidneys were working; best guess --without testing-- would be at least 50% because of the normal results. He prescribed two medicines (if I understood right, there's three technically, but he's waiting on one to come in) to take twice daily; basically they are internal dialysis. (Thank God she's easy to medicate!)

The next hurdle is 10 days of "wait and see" ... next Friday (the 18th), they will re-run bloodwork to see if the medicines will maintain her body. That's going to be a LONG 10 days.

Thank you guys again!

I feel like we're hogging the thread but... prayers for K'Cee's appetite to increase? She ate more at the vet than she is eating at home.

After lunch, I'm off to the store to try and pick up anything she might eat.

Thanks,

Try stinky salmon cat food, or even salmon! Maybe once K'Cee relaxes a little, now that she is at home, her appetite will pick up.

What food was she eating at the vet? Maybe you could get a bit of that for a while?

HUGS and more prayers for your beautiful Princess!

I need some PT prayers, Actually, two sets?
PLease?

One for a good friend of mine who lost his dad on friday. Charlie is my airshow friend-funny and a real good head.

Two?
My sis got the results from her pap smear and they aren't good. I had to yell at her on the phone because she was doing the somber "I HAVE TO TALK TO YOU!" voice. So, I let her have it on the phone for the "I give up" attitude.

She thanked me afterwards!:eek::)

Thanks.

I didn't know him at all, but many people in the school did and he seemed like a decent guy, so please say prayers for his friends and family. I can't even imagine what they're going through right now.

I am now out on temporary leave at work. Not sure when my return to work date is. Keep me in your prayers that this doesn't kill us financially, but for my headaches to go away everyone (work, doctors) agreed this was the best step to take... I don't know what position I will have when I return. It isn't FMLA - it is just "leave". Scary stuff... if there is NO position available when I'm released to return - I have to agree to termination.

Like I said, please pray... I'm scared.

I am with pomtzu...all the stress of your job - doing it, keeping it, maybe losing it - that doesn't help your headaches either.
Disability might be something to look into - with the option of going back to work if and when you recover enough.

I don't really wanna go into deep detail about everything if it's ok, but things have been tough lately...not only for me but my family as well. My brother has been havin problems w/ his ex-wife and he can't find a job right now and he reallllllly needs one. My grandma has alzheimers and my mother cares for her and I feel so bad for my mom cause she never gets to get out or do anything cause it's a 24/7 job. I am not getting enough hours where I work and I've got to where I feel down all the time and I don't know why. That's some of our problems right there..so if you guys can pray for us I'd appreciate it so much. I'll be praying for all of you as well :)

I don't come here very often, in fact I have not read this thread in weeks.
Richard...we need to talk!!! Call me, OK????

My prayers go out to all PTers every night.

I'm not really asking for prayers here but things happen in 3's for me. Right now I know of 3 people who have recently been diagnosed with cancer. One person was diagnosed last week it may be terminal, the second person was diagnosed with ovarian cancer a couple of weeks ago and is waiting to undergo chemo, and the third person was diagnosed last Friday and it is terminal. Dear God, I hate this cancer. :(

Dear ones, would you please say two prayers for people I know...

One. My niece has a friend at school whose older brother was killed in a motor vehicle accident back in June. This friend's family goes to the same church as me, my parents, and my sister's family. My sister saw the friend's parents at a recent school event and they are still having a very difficult time with their loss.

Two. My friend Mary, who's a couple of years younger than me and has three children, has been on chemotherapy for recurrence of a brain tumor for over a year. The tumor has stopped responding to the chemotherapy and she will be starting on a new medication probably next week. Please pray that the new medication will work.

Thank you,
Elyse

Prayers uplifted to everyone in need. God Bless you all!

I could use some positive thoughts. My job is driving me nuts...and I feel like a wuss for even letting it bother me but at the same time I know I could be doing a lot better. I work two 12 hr days and two 8 hr days. The 12s start at 6 am and the 8s start at 2pm. I can't sleep during my working days and on my days off thats all I can seem to do. I feel tired all the time even when I sleep a good 8 hrs. I caught some virus about two weeks ago and its caused me to miss shifts and even though I rest and take care of myself I still feel worn out and ill. I feel like if I bring up my concerns with the higher ups my complaints will fall on deaf ears because they feel like I should just be happy I'm getting hours at all. Never mind that its turning me into a spazz...*sigh*

I have a new one tonight. Update first, I have not heard yet how my friend Mary did on the first dose of the new drug. I will update again when I know more.

The new one is this. I have lighted some candles in the past for one of the pastors at my church, Dr. Bob. He had a cancer of the thymus gland (part of the immune system) and responded well to chemotherapy and radiation. He was diagnosed with another type of cancer (atypical carcinoid) a little over 3 years ago and has been on chemotherapy ever since. Today he announced that he is going on long-term disability. He asked for prayers for healing and for patience. I am sure it won't be easy for him to be away from his pastoral work. He is a dear heart.

Thank you again,
Elyse

I'll keep him in my prayers,Elyse. When my Mom had cancer, her heart was damaged by the chemo and she became housebound. But next to her chair was a lamp, a telephone and a little stack of prayer cards. She told me that although there wasn't much she could do, she could pray for people. I was very touched by her undaunting spirit of service. God bless her, she set an example for me till her dying day. God will help your Pastor continue his (or should I say, His ;)) work too, no matter what.

He'll be in the hospital 4-6 days then on house arrest :p for 6 weeks. The worst part is that he won't be able to bend or pick up kitties. :(
