Prayers for everyone that needs them

My family could use a few.

I got a message from my dad today that my grandfather has been taken to the hospital. he didn't have any information other than that so I have NO idea what is going on but my grandfather is 94 years old so this is extremely worrisome.

IF, God forbid something does happen and he passes away I don't know what I'll do. I don't know if I can even legally leave the country with my immigration papers processing and my family will FREAK if he passes and I don't make it up there for the funeral. it's very selfish of me but I am just super stressed about it right now AND we are supposed to leave for my inlaws place in Florida TOMORROW.

I just want to know whats going on. I feel like I'm going to be sick.

So anyway we could all really use your prayers especially my grandmother and grandfather

it turns out my grandpa has Pneumonia which is a relief and worrisome all at the same time being that he is 94. BUT he;s in good spirits, resting comfortably at the hospital.

continued prayers for his recovery please and for my grandma, hoping she doesn't wear herself too thin with him in the hospital. she needs to rest too. he's going to be in the hospital for a couple of days

Thank you

my dad just called about 45 minutes ago. he's on the way to the hospital. My grandfather is dying.

I'm sad but I was prepared for this to happen. he is 94 years old afterall. He was a good man and he lived a really long and good life.

How to tell my dad I can't come up for the funeral? I dont' know how to tell him and I know he's not going to handle it well :(

thank you everyone. My grandfather passed away last night around 11pm.

My dad was very understanding that I wasn't able to come up.

He's taking the loss of his father very hard. He sounded horrible today when I talked to him. So please prayers for him that he can find some peace and acceptance.

and also prayers for my grandmother. she's holding up OK but she's very lonely. They've been married for 65+ years and for her husband to be taken so suddenly and be alone is going to be tough on her.

I do. In a previous job I had the most wonderful group of co-workers. I learned yesterday that one of them, who had cancer, has had a recurrence and her cancer is now quite an aggressive form. This is making me very sad today. So if you could say a prayer for my former co-worker and her family.

Thank you,

I posted this to facebook so sorry for the repeat for some of you.

Keegan has been treated for a corneal ulcer of her RIGHT eye since beginning of December. (She was treated for one of her LEFT eye in Oct)
It hasn't gotten better - its gotten worse. She is at the vet right now for testing as to WHY its happening and having surgery to fix it.
I know she's in good hands. Especially with Unkle Phred watching over her and thumping the vet to do it right.
We would just appreciate prayers that this works. Thanks

She did great with surgery. Seems to be adjusting tho she is fighting the cone. :(
She has to be treated with Glaucoma in that eye. Not sure if glaucoma started the ulcer or vice versa.
I on the other hand am a COMPLETE BASKET CASE. Everytime I look at her I freak out that something is different and should I call the vet. Just thinking of something going wrong makes me nauseous.

Karen

Oh, Staci, remember, even if the worst happens, she'll likely adjust just fine. We'll say a prayer that everything heals up fine, and I'm not going to tell you NOT to worry - that'd be as useful as telling a cat not to shed - but I will tell you to take a deep breath, count to four, then exhale, then do it again and count to five, and try not to wrry TOOOOO much.

And give your Big Red Dog a kiss on the noggin for me, okay?

My old high school friend was murdered by her boyfriend, who also went to high school with me. Her body was found Friday night. Please say a prayer for her family. Please say a prayer for his daughter - she's got to grow up knowing her father is a killer.

Also, an online friend died yesterday of a heart attack. He visited the message forum we belong to at 1:45 or so and by 5 was gone. I met him and his girlfriend in 1999 - which seems like a lifetime ago. Please also say a prayer for Kevin's family that they are able to get through this.

I'm pasting this from another thread.

We spent Christmas day in the Emergency Room. My husband woke up with chest pains and I whisked him over the the hospital by our house without a second thought to the holiday. Turns out that he did NOT have a heart attack, but he does have atherosclerosis and he was not getting enough oxygen to his heart, hence the constriction in his chest. He has been in the hospital for two nights and will have an angioplasty tomorrow.

What did I get for Christmas? A second chance.. . .

Prayers for everyone who needs them. this seems to have been a rough holiday season :(

Brians dad is sick in the hospital right now. we got a text from his mom earlier. he's been under the weather the last couple days and tonight he went in to emerg.

they are pretty sure he has pneumonia. He is on an antibiotic IV right now and will be staying tonight and likely tomorrow night too.

He has lymphoma so this is a bit more worrying than it would normally be but I'm sure he's going to make it out unscathed.

if you could just spare a prayer for him it would be greatly appreciated

sparks19

UPDATE on Puck's Dad

It is NOT pneumonia (hooray) just a very bad upper respiratory infection. he also has a UTI. Any infection when you have Lymphoma is bad but pneumonia would have been even worse

they took some blood cultures and it will take about 36-48 hours to get the results from those. They are trying to find out if he has any kind of blood infection. If he doesn't then that's good... they can probably fully treat him and get him better. if it is... that's not so good and we'll just have to wait and find out and go from there

The good news is he is doing a little better today. Improvement of any kind is good so we are glad to hear that. He was feeling pretty horrible yesterday so to hear he's doing a bit better today is great.

If you could continue praying for him that would be great.

I just read back thru some of my posts since July and I could have sworn I posted this but I must have been dreaming. Back in OCT I believe one of our Unit Secretaries at work lost her husband to a tragic accident. I went to work the other day to see a note that her 81 year old Father in Law had fallen back in Dec and must have not been found right away- he suffered Frostbite and is to under go surgery to remove BOTH his hands and BOTH his feet. Please just send up a prayer for the Valentine Family - they have had a rough couple months.

This is a sad story all around. The 16 year old is the former best friend of the son of one of my co-workers. They lost touch when my co-worker's kids transferred to parochial school. The parents are from Argentina, very kind and hard-working people. So - if you could say a prayer for Alex and his parents as well as the girl. The oldest guy- He can go to prison for a loooong time as far as I'm concerned.

We have recently gotten so pretty bad news. My dad, who I have been estranged from for 7 years was diagnosed with prostate cancer. We don't know yet if it is early stage of what. Also the docs found a strange spider web type mass in my mother's left breast. They are not sure what it is. They are running tests but are quite baffled by it. Anyway, both of these stories came to be within hours of each other. My brother called me about the problems with dad and less than 2 hours later my mother called me about the mass she has. Needless to say things are a little overwhelming now. I will keep you updated as I know more. Thank you all.

Could I ask everyone's prayers please for my friend Bea? She's a mom with two young children and a loving husband, was diagnosed two weeks ago with breast cancer and operated on yesterday. She is an oncology nurse herself, so has seen this many times, please pray that she gets the care she needs to not only survive, but thrive.

She migrated here from Ireland as a young woman, and her husband's parents migrated here from China, so Bea's children have the middle name of "Chirish" - isn't that fun?

My mom hasn't felt "like herself" for a couple of years. She is 77 - had an MRI and bloodwork, all of which was excellent, thank God.

Today we followed up with the neurologist. She is in preliminary stages of a Parkinson's type of syndrome.

It certainly could have been far worse, and the doc said that because it is so late in onset, she likely won't have disruptive symptoms for another 12 years. Mom asked him about how this affected her likelihood of needing long-term care, and he said it is way too early to be concerned about that.

We're each a bit gobsmacked...but prayers for her would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm asking for a PT miracle tonight...

My high school Economics teacher posted a suicide note on Facebook, and it's been over an hour. It took some time before the police were able to find him and now the police and his mother are at his house. I don't know what's going on right now, but I need to ask that you will all pray that he is okay.

He was one of my favorite teachers, and he has many, many students who love him. Everyone is uniting on his Facebook wall, expressing how much he means to them. I really hope we're not too late, so if you could pray for him, I would really appreciate it.

Two things. I am having a very hard time with sleep, which is a side effect of one of the medications I'm taking. The specific effect is very vivid, detailed dreams. I wake up more tired than when I went to bed and it's affecting my work performance.

The other is a little different. My oldest niece (29) and my nephew (26) are both getting married this year. My grandmother passed away in 2001 but I know she would be delighted about this and she would love both of her grandchildren-in-law. She loved a good party and I wish she could be with us. The other person I am missing very much is my best friend, who died about 2 1/2 years ago. It is very hard for me to imagine these two weddings without her there. She was a friend of my entire family and we all miss her a lot. But I miss her the most because we're the same age. My nephew's wedding is first, in June.

Thank you very much,

It's been awhile since I've been on the site and in particular since I've visited this thread. I feel selfish that I am here to request prayers and advice from you all, my PT family when I haven't been very good at supporting you all myself.

The last few years have been hard on my family because of various bad events and now, we have been stricken with another hard hit.

My uncle had a major stroke on March 17th and he has been in the hospital since. His only progress has been to move his eyes. He has locked in syndrome. It's when you are aware of what is going on around you but cannot move your body. He's on a ventilator and feeding tube and has had a low grade fever since the stroke happened. We've been praying hard in the family and in the last week or so he's been breathing on his own, very laborously, for a few hours at a time so I guess that is progress. I am asking you to pray for him and my aunt who is so devistated. What is worse is that they have no insurance and she doesn't know where to turn for help. Does anyone know of an association or center that can help her financially? They are in Brooklyn, NY. She is sure she is going to lose her job too because she needs to be at the hospital to talk to the drs. to make decisions about his care etc.. and has been taking a lot of time off. More than my prayers I don't know what to offer so I am asking for your prayers as well. Thank you.

I am so sorry to read this, and your family will be in my prayers. A stroke is a terrible thing to experience. My brother had a massive stroke at 59, and passed away from complications of it after 5 years. After the stroke, he was never able to work another day in his life. He and his wife had just relocated to a new area, and he wasn't long on his new job when stricken, and his wife had just started her new job a few days before. They had no medical insurance that would cover the enormous expenses incurred, but they did get some sort of government assistance. Of course my brother qualified for disability, and I believe that his wife also got some sort of assistance, since she quit work to care for him at home. They lived in FL, so there might have been programs offered there that aren't available in NY - I can't say for certain. I'd advise your aunt to haunt every agency she can possibly think of, and leave no stone unturned. Sorry I can't be of more help than that.
Again - my prayers to all of your family, but especially your aunt and uncle at this very difficult time.

I am asking for some prayers. I have been having some health issues lately. One is an attempt in getting pregnant and the other is a spot by my ear that has been bothering me lately. I have an appointment with the dermatologist at the end of April and am so terrified it will come out bad. These two issues has almost sucked dry my HSA and still have a couple thousand dollars before my deductible kicks in. Pray that these issues are worked out and that the money is provided to pay for all these doctor visits.

I think we should all take a moment to remember those that have lost their lives in the recent storms across the country. Today in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, there were at least 25 people that lost their lives, and today in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a person was also killed because they didn't make it to safety in time. Asking for prayers for my BFF Irene. She is just 45; peripheral artery disease and type 2 diabetes run in her family; she has both and has had two heart attacks while in her early 40s (one she didn't even know she had).

She knows she has to quit smoking and has had success and then gone back. A recent ultrasound showed that the vein on the right side of her neck (maybe artery?) is 70% narrowed. This will mean surgery; she is at high risk for stroke; she is really scared because this is what killed her mom.

She is throwing her cigarettes away on Saturday. Please sent prayers that she stays clean this time. She says it is all that she can do, and she thinks it is too late - but she is doing it.

Thanks.

Thanks.

How is your BFF now?

Asking for prayers for my husbands family. As some of you know, his young cousin was killed by her boyfriend last Friday morning. The funeral is this coming Sunday. Please pray for them to have some way to get through this tragedy.

I would like to ask that everyone put Ratatat in their prayers. I love my rat and I don't want to see her go. I am trying to raise $900 dollars for her surgery using this site http://www.indiegogo.com/Surgery-for-my-pet-Ratatat (there is a picture of her on there) and if i don't reach my goal I'm donating all of the money I do receive to the Best Friends Animal Society. If you have some money to spare and would like to contribute please do but if you don't a prayer would be more than enough.

thank you all and god bless,
Joshua

My co-worker who had the cancer surgery is recovering slowly. We had a nice note from her last week.

My sister-in-law's father has developed dementia. His dementia has changed and at times he now has periods of agitation. I'm sure it is scary for her to see him confused and agitated. My dad was confused for two days when he was in the hospital after his heart surgery and that was very scary.

My mom was admitted to hospital last night after an afternoon of frequent vomiting and horrible cramps (no diarrhea). I drove to her place about 9:30 and had keys to get right into her apartment. At her age, dehydration is a big scare, so we drove down to Emerg and she got a bed in that department about an hour and a half later.

They put some Zofran in her IV for the nausea, and a light dose of morphine for the pain a little later. It was great to see her colour come back and that she was relaxed and comfortable.

Two sets of x-rays, blood work, and she was off for a CT Scan when I called this morning. The obstruction is a slight regrowth of adhesions that she had clipped about 20 years ago. The docs are going to use surgery as a last resort, and she'll be in for 2 or 3 days as they get her settled and fixed up.

She still was able to joke a bit - not lacking a sense of humour.;)

Prayers are appreciated - she's the only fambly I got!:love::love:

Thanks, Mary and Gini...I don't know how frightened I was...but she IS 78 albeit in good health. Yoga, power walks, etc - doesn't smoke and drinks very little - her Parkinson's meds have done wonders.

Yet she IS 78 - and she looked so frail, her voice hoarse from all the vomiting. I was close to crying a couple of times, but wanted to be there totally for her. I didn't leave til she felt ok and a plan of action had been determined.

Oddly, at one point she said, "Thank God we don't have to pay for any of this." The $13.00 for hospital parking was nothing.

Got to sleep at 3 am. Mom is totally worth getting tired over. And more.

This morning it was decided for Mom to have surgery - I got a phone message from a nurse asking if I could there there ASAP so Mom and I could meet before her surgery.

I got there about noon. She was taken to the OR at 1:40 - I was allowed to be in the pre-op area. By 4:30 pm she was in recovery; don't know how long she was there.

I waited til she was in her room at about 20 to 6. Apparently everything went well, no complications. I'll find out more tomorrow.

Came home finally and was locked out of my apartment. Long story, but all resolved now.

Prayers for my mom would be great.

Also, with work and mom and other life stuff, I am pretty stretched at the seams. I've had a few crying jags and will likely have a few more. But Mom will be ok, that's the important thing.

When the surgeon introduced himself to her this morning and explained what was going to happen she said, "I hope you had a good night's sleep." He wasn't quite sure what to make of that remark....;)

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

She's been extremely tired after work every day and she starts her chemotherapy soon. But she looked really, really good when I saw her.

My friend Mary, who's a couple of years younger than me and has three children, has been on chemotherapy for recurrence of a brain tumor for over a year. The tumor has stopped responding to the chemotherapy and she will be starting on a new medication probably next week. Please pray that the new medication will work.

I got an e-mail that my friend Mary has had another recurrence of the brain tumor. That is bad news.

And I'm praying that the hurricane will make a hard right, go out to the ocean and quietly fade away.

My grandson's other grandmother has been battling cancer for several years now. It started as breast cancer, and then spread thru out her body, and mainly to her brain. I last saw her in June, and in spite of what she was facing, was in good spirits. A couple of weeks ago she was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia, but she beat that. The family has been waiting for space in a nursing home since she now requires round the clock care which she cannot get at home. Unfortunately she has just taken another turn for the worse, and the end is very near. Please - remember her in your prayers and pray that the end is calm and peaceful for her. She is only in her 50's. My grandson does not yet know of this turn of events. Please remember him in your prayers too.

Her dear friend found out yesterday that she has tumors on her spine. she was rushed into Surgery right away. They told them before the surgery that she could very well come o ut of it paralyzed.

She is out of surgery and is stable. her spine is very brittle though and it's still touch and go. The tumors were wrapped around her spine.

They think that she may also have breast cancer and the tumors in her back may be breast cancer spreading or it could be another cancer.

This is my MIL's dearest friend of many years. As you can imagine she is a wreck upon hearing this news. I can't imagine what the rest of her family is going through.

so prayers please for our friend, her family and my MIL. Thank you

I have a prayer request, please. :)

As some of you know, I have taken and passed the CA Registered Veterinary Technician examination. Well, to be honest this license means nothing to me, because I am not confident in my hands-on skills. Everyone tells me I will only get better and more confident with time and practice, and I keep telling myself that. It's true, right? I want SO badly to be excellent at this job as an RVT. I have such an intense desire to learn and become better and better, it's all I care about is being the best that I can be in my field of work.

I have an interview tomorrow at 10 am with an animal hospital. I am praying, wishing and hoping that this is where I am supposed to be working as a team member, a place where I can grow professionally and become better with my skills. I ask that you guys can pray for me, send good thoughts, vibes, etc. Please! Thank you and I will be sure to update on how the interview went.

I just found out that my good friends (she was my roommate when I lived in Coalinga) brother-in-law had an accident at work. He was hit by an arc during an explosion. He has burns over 40% of his body. This happened last Wednesday and the good news is he is already taking steps around his room. He has more surgeries to undergo and a long road to recovery. First- kind of going back to #2383-- one of the senior partners at my brother's workplace is in the hospital; he has been receiving cancer treatment and got an infection because his immune system is so depleted from the treatment. My brother is not happy at his job, but it's close to home and he's good at what he does, so he is trying to keep positive about it.

Second- My sister-in-law's father has dementia. Over the summer he moved from his home into a long-term care facility because he has had some periods where he gets agitated and angry in addition to being confused. My sister-in-law and her brother are responsible for his care and I know that's not easy, because they both have jobs and families of their own. So just a word of prayer for both my brother and sister-in-law, and also the senior partner.

Thank you so much!

I also need some prayers and positive vibes. I'll be having some minor surgery this Fri. morning on my left eye. My tear duct is blocked and this will now be the second time that this has happened. I had a similar surgery almost 10 years ago. This time I have an eye specialist doing the surgery and he'll put a stent in the corner of my left eye which I'll have to keep in place for at least 3 months. This is an outpatient surgery but I do have to be under anesthesia. I will then be off the whole next week recovering and will go back for my post-op appt. on 11-11-11 to have my stitches taken out. I just hope that everything goes smoothly and I won't ever need this type of surgery again. Thanks in advance.:)

Everyone is in my thoughts that needs them. I am very shaken right now.
First to update a litte on Mike, my friends BIL, he is improving each day and doing it faster than anyone expected. :)

On another note...our good friend suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm this past Tuesday. She spent 12 hours in surgery and they felt that wasn't going to do it. She more minor surgery done and is sedated and restrained because she becomes agitated. She is not very responsive right now and has a long road to recovery. Months. And even with that they are not sure how her mental capacity will be.

Meredith is such a sweet caring person. It is breaking my heart that this is happening to her. And her husband, Randy, is like a big old teddy bear. These two work with Bruce and the non-profit organization Guitars Not Guns.

I would like to ask my PT family if you could say a prayer or do whatever it is you do for this family. They have two adult daughters as well.

Thank you.

We got an update on Meredith last night. The only tubes she is connected to now are the ones to release the fluid that develops on her brain and a feeding tube. She is responsive, knows who is there to visit her. She squeezes her husband hand in response to his questions. She fights the feeding tube, but stops when they tell her to.
It sounds like she is making great progress, but there is still a LONG road ahead. I can't help but feel that PT had a part in this wonderful step forward for her.

The email group her husband sends updates to has been named by him "Meredith's Angels". A friend of the family sent all of us an email and mentioned helping the family with meals. I had just talked about this to my mom and had not had a chance to talk to Bruce about it. I'm so glad she is doing this for them.

Anyway, thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.

Sorry, but we got another update this morning. Her husband was pleasantly surprised when he went into the ICU this morning. She is sitting up in a chair, is able to talk about finances and sign forms and engage in conversations with vistors. And she was able to lift her left hand up to touch his face. (happy tears!)
She said her goal is to be walking at the NAMM show (a music conference we always attend with them) in January. This brought on the tears for me big time. I was so bummed that they would not be able to attend this year. She had already reserved a suite for us to share and everything. Now I am so excited and just so happy! :D

There is still a long road ahead, but she seems to be okay in the cognitive aspect of things. Her long term memory is great, however, her short term memory is a little fuzzy. When she is able to engage 3 hours of rehab they will move her to a more intensive rehab facility. She still tires easily, as you would expect.

Thank you so much to anyone and everyone. Even if all you did was read this and just give out a thought. :D

Thanks Tracey. :)
Well in the update today there was sad news. She is still going great, but we just learned that her mother passed away the same day she had her surgery. They waited to tell her until she was stable enough to take the news. :( Her husband said she took it well and will use the anger she feels about that toward her own recovery. Her mother was not a good therapy/rehab patient and didn't do what she should. Meredith will not do that in her own recovery.
She has a new goal. They have tickets to a concert of some kind on Dec. 9th. She is determined to go to that event. :)

I cannot imagine how dark life became for him. I am praying very hard for his soul, that very soon he will be in Heaven. There he will find peace, love, and happiness, which in his life he had so little.....Sleep softly, my dear Colonel.....

Two weeks ago, my grandmother was suddenly unable to walk. She was taken to the ER and diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0001704/), and has been in the hospital ever since. She's lost much of her fine motor control and is pretty much paralyzed from the neck down. She's always been very independant and strong, so it's really scary to see her like this. I've never dealt with anything like this before, and I feel totally lost and out of control. :(

...I'm generally not very religious, but I could really use some good vibes right now...

Please keep my family in your thoughts. I have already posted a general post about this on Facebook but wanted my pet talk family to know as well but in more detail. My aunt's (my mom's sister) found her 17 year old son dead last night. She went to wake him up & found him ice cold. There is an investigation as they think foul play may be involved. There was internal bleeding from ruptured organs. They believe he was given something that was laced with 'god knows what'. But nothing is known for sure yet. My aunt is in shock. I was talking to her and she is not seeing this yet as herself...it is like she is seeing it through someone else's eyes. She talked to me about him & what she knew like she was reading off a paper. She had a moment where she was 'there' and said to me 'I will never get over this. I will never be the same' but she reined herself in immediately. I'm afraid when it does hit her she is going to have a real tough time. I will let you guys know more as I know it. Thank you in advance for your support.

Here is a little memorial his my cousin Jeffrey's cousin Danny posted. The family is using it as our profile picture to memorialize Jeff. 52882

if you guys could spare a prayer for Brians dad that would be much appreciated.

he has pulmonary artery disease in his legs and he had surgery to see if they could put a stent in. they could not get one in because they were too clogged and hardened. they put something else in ... like a stent but different somehow.

he had the surgery this past wednesday and then flew out to NC on Sunday to help his daughter get the house listed on the market... against the urging of my MIL to cancel the trip.

As soon as he landed he started feeling really sick. he said he was fine and he went to his daughters house and slept. Today he still is not feeling well... maybe worse. went to the clinic and they think there is something wrong with the stent like things that were put in. So he is on his way to the VA hospital and my MIL is on her way to NC.

Please pray for safe travels for my MIL and please pray for my FIL.

I could use some prayers. I took a pregnancy test on April 1st and it came out positive. Back in November some of you may remember I went through a blighted ovum and miscarried in December. I am scared and nervous that it will happen again, or something else will go wrong. I am not going to tell but a few select people until I hear a heartbeat. Our parents don't even know yet and I am not going to tell them either until I know that a baby is there. But I know prayers can do amazing things so having people to pray for a positive outcome would be awesome!

Today I'm asking your prayers for my son, Mike. He will be going to the Dominican Republic as a missionary. The weekend before Christmas, Mike told me that he wanted to start coming to church with me. Prior to that he completely rejected the idea. An Elder in our church and her husband established a mission outside of Santo Domingo in 1998, last week Debora spoke to the congregation about the mission and shared some pictures. Shortly after we got home that day, Mike told me he wants to go down there to help out. This past Sunday we met with Debora and our Pastor to discuss this. Mike said it's time to use his God given talents and abilities to help others. Pastor Karen said she'll do his commission to go. There's no date set for when he'll be going and right now we're working out the details.

This is a huge step for Mike and I'm very proud of him for even considering going. Please hold Mike in your prayers as he sets off to do God's work.

Hey, Pet Talkers Prayer Pawtrol - please say a prayer for Teddy - he's the heart dog of the producer for All Paws Pet Talk, and yes, that's Teddy's picture on the website - see http://allpawspettalk.com . Teddy is a rescue boy, probably a Wheaton maybe poodle mix, about 6 years old. He was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and today was taken to the vet as he was so sick. He had extremely high ketones, so much so that they are keeping him overnight, and in a small cage so he cannot move around too much and dislodge the IV drip they've got in him. Poor Teddy is stressed, and so is his human Dad, who loves him a whole lot. Two previous vets missed this, and never tested his urine, so this could have been caught and prevented!

I believe Keegan is feeling your grief and you are feeling his, What I have done with this sitchy is, set aside only a limited amount of time per day to to allow yourself to grieve and then lesson it gradually. The time in between is to be used for living as joyously as possible because life is such a gift and we need to embrace it as much as we can. For instance, 1 hr. ( too long 20 mins.) totally give yourself to the grief you feel and then try to breathe and live. It can be the same time every day, or the same place, or both. You will be honoring your beloved angel and honoring yourself as well. Your cat will never leave your heart and would want you to have the very best life  This is only a suggestion  I would never mean to offend you, Gonna pray for you for 10 minutes now cuz yer worth it and so is Keegan. I'm not religouse, don't even know how to spell it obviously , but love is all that matters and prayers are always answered I believe :D

Many prayers for Keegan! I read on FB that he perked up when he saw his "PaPa". Can you get him to chase or fetch a ball? Just thinking playing might cheer him a bit. Give Keegan many hugs from me.:love:

All prayers to all who need them.

the dog that used to do anything for a tennis ball has no interest in them now. I even gave her a brand new one today to no avail.
Thank you Catty will do.

Staci - how about a vet visit? Poor Keegan might need a temporary medication - doggie prozac or something - to take the edge off the depression.

Tomorrow - Saturday - there is a pet psychic on a show that Karen has info on. PM her and see if you can still get on. She will give you all the info. You'll need a picture of Keegan.

I know I haven't been around here long and don't come around much, but my grandmother needs prayers.

Two days ago she suffered a severe stroke. My poppop found her that evening when he came home from work and rushed her right to the hospital. No one knew when during the day it happened; my dad thinks it was in the morning since he found toast and coffee on her table in the apartment from breakfast. The doctors said they wouldn't know if she would be okay until the received back test results that next day (which was yesterday.)

I went back to the hospital after work yesterday. The nurse said there was no activity on the right side of my grandmom's brain, meaning she might not be able to breathe, eat/drink on her own. There was an option to unhook her from the machines she was on, which was giving her oxygen and nutrients, to see if she could do it herself. The nurse did warn us that many people painlessly die within a half hour. So the chances were very slim. The whole family came together and made the decision to do it, either she would make it or she would be at peace in Heaven. My poppop asked for a priest to come before anything happened. We all stood around her bedside and prayed. Then the nurse took everything out. My grandmom was not only breathing on her own, but she was wiggling her toes and moving her hand as well as squeezing it. This gave everyone hope. Miraculously, an hour passed and nothing wrong happened. The nurse hooked her back up with medicine because she felt there could be progress.

It was so scary seeing my grandmother like that. So sudden too, it shocked everyone. It was nice to see her whole family there: her children, her grandchildren, brothers and sisters, and friends. She's really the person in our family that brings everyone together. I'm trying so hard to remain optimistic. She's a very strong woman, she has to pull through.

Please hold my grandmother in your prayers.

:(

Just found out my daughters friend from junior high got killed tonight in a car accident her young child was also killed, her 8 or 9 year old and husband are in critical condition, son is on life support. I just reconnected with her on facebook, I was so proud of her, she got pregnant at 14, she kept the child, she was raised in a broken home and not much support from mom, her mom had boyfriend in jail etc, Amber had the child got her schooling, went on to join the army, found a great guy got married and had another child, she worked her butt off to turn her life around I was so proud of her I am crying so hard right now. She was always so polite and respectful to me and such a great mom, what a horrible loss.

This is from one of the radio hosts that I have worked with many times, Annie, and she has become a dear friend:

Please send you very best healing thoughts for Luke, our wonderful Cavalier. He is seriously ill with hemolytic anemia and killing his own blood cells off :(. His chances are 50/50. We are using all our skills and knowledge and making use of conventional and alternative therapies. Still waggin his tail even though he is close to needing a blood transfusion.

Her husband and she have a veterinary practice, so Luke is in the best of hands, but I told her I would enlist the Pet Talk Prayer Pawtrol for little Luke!

I could use some of those amazing PT Prayers if anyone has some extras just laying around. :) I'll be having an MRI on my knee this Friday, which will determine whether I will need a partial knee replacement. Yes - they can do partials in some cases. I will have the results the following Tuesday. Please send some good vibes - for an easy solution - and no surgery please. Thanks everyone.

Anne- I hope it goes better than expected.

Prayers to all, and for all that need them.

Random- This guy (60-65??) lives in my neighborhood, and I have said hello, exchanged pleasantries dozens of times with him. I see him out walking this am- not unusual, though I normally see him pushing his grandson. We fall into step together, he pets Jasper, and says, "I am so happy to be here". Of course, I agree. He then tells me on September 6, he suffered a major stroke. ICU for 5 days, hospital after that, and he was given a -0- percent chance of survival. Only thanks to the FD/EMS and a drug called TPA or TPI???, did he pull through. And, really, to see him today, WOW! I could tell he was shaken to the core, still. I can see some loss on the left side of his body, he had his left hand in his pocket, and was walking with a different gait (but only cause I knew him before...), but it has only been 3.5 weeks, right?

Prayers that my unknown named neighbor makes a full recovery, and loses some of that fear I can see in his eyes and hear in his voice. :(

This is a request for two people I know, both of whom are named Bob.

Bob is the husband of my past choir president at church and was recently diagnosed with pneumonia and pleurisy. He is on antibiotics but has a lot of pain from the pleurisy, so he is also on pain meds.

Rev. Bob is a former pastor at my church. He has cancer, which has recently gone to his brain, so he is now under hospice care. So if I could ask for prayers for him and his family.

Thank you very much,

A mini van crashed into a classroom yesterday in St. Paul, near Edmonton. 3 children were in critical condition; one was upgraded to stable today. The two others are critical but stable.

Please pray that the other two recover. I just can't imagine what the parents are going through. :(

A St. Paul, Alta., man charged after a minivan crashed into a school classroom critically injuring three students, has a criminal record including several driving offences, CBC News has learned.

Three Grade 6 students were left in critical condition and five others injured after a minivan crashed into a classroom at a school in St. Paul, Alta., Thursday morning. The three most seriously injured students were taken by air ambulance to Edmonton, said Kerry Williamson, spokesman for Alberta Health Services, which runs St. Therese Healthcare Centre in St. Paul, where the remaining five were taken.
Three of those five injured students have since been released from hospital, he said.

I am very sad to report this update:
One of the girls critically injured after a minivan crashed through a Grade 6 classroom in St. Paul on Thursday, has died.
