No picking up kitties? That's unthinkable! We'll send up those prayers right now so that at least he can lie on the bed and have the kitties all gather 'round and comfort and heal him.

On Tuesday I fly to Winnipeg to retrieve the vehicle that my ex drove off with at the beginning of September.
Everything has gone well - the ownership is back in my name, I have a buyer for the vehicle; the ex even had a landlord of his call me - this guy sells cars and the ex had told him about the spot I was in with the vehicle.
I am asking for prayers for the drive back. Weather forecasts look good - but it is a 15 hour haul. Will overnight with a cousin in Moose Jaw and having a pizza din din with Nicole on the way back the next day.
Prayers and good thoughts please for good weather and a safe drive home.
Thanks!

Phred ~ We didn't know they did surgery on weekends either! The surgery team is booked for a month or 2 so they agreed to work this weekend because Bobcat needs surgery ASAP or the nerve damage and muscle weakness could be permanent if they don't repair it now.
Thanks for all your prayers. I read them to Bobcat and he was very touched. We're heading out the door to the hospital. I'll start an update thread later.

Irene just called me, just before 10:50 MT.
She and another person are overnighting at the hospice; Greg, the priest I know, was to go up tomorrow.
He left about 20 minutes ago.
Joe is unconscious and unresponsive. He has been dying for a few weeks, of course, but this looks like the end.
He has been in a lot of pain the past several weeks; even Irene was wanting him to die so that the pain would be over for him, at the same time being torn up because he was going to die. That horrid mixed feeling.
I joined Irene at the hospice yesterday afternoon. Joe and I were out on the smoking deck waiting for Irene.
The breeze was chilly, but the fall sun was nice. Joe appeared to doze in his wheelchair, then opened his eyes and said, "That feels good." "The sun?" I asked. He nodded, and closed his eyes again, soaking it in.
Asking for prayers for Joe and Irene, and Karen who is with them too. Irene promised Joe that she would be there for him, as far as she could. And she kept her promise, even though she herself has put off surgery to treat something that has her in great pain.
Thanks, all.
ETA: Irene phoned me just after 3:30. Joe died peacefully at 3:05 am.
It's all right now, Joe.

May I ask one more, please?
My Aunt Lydia is in her early 70's. She smoked tons all her life til several years ago when cancer the size of a centimeter was removed from one lung. She was lucky, and has been off the smokes ever since.
She just had a checkup, and she has a carcinoma at the back of her bronchial tube in the lungs. I am hoping that since she has had regular post-cancer checkups that this was caught early enough that she can recover.
Thanks.

Two. My friend Mary, who's a couple of years younger than me and has three children, has been on chemotherapy for recurrence of a brain tumor for over a year. The tumor has stopped responding to the chemotherapy and she will be starting on a new medication probably next week. Please pray that the new medication will work.
Thank you,
Elyse
Update. Mary has had her first few doses of the new drug. So far it has left her extremely tired. I got an e-mail asking for friends to prepare family-friendly meals, freeze them and deliver with reheating instructions because she is not up to cooking for her family. I don't know yet if the chemo is working - I don't believe she has had any follow-up imaging studies yet. I'll keep you posted.
Thank you,
Elyse

I haven't written much because its still been a bit up in the air as to how her recovery is going. But she is finally showing some interest in eating, and the last 3 nights, she's eaten a small meal. She's very picky, what she'll eat one day, she won't the next. But I talked to the vet (again) today, we're unsure why she still isn't going potty more firmly, but the vet said we can start to focus on that being the main problem right now rather than complications from her surgery. He said she's pretty much in the clear from leaking into her gut from sutures or tears. That's good news!

Prayers for my Grandma Hollandsworth.
While shopping with my parents yesterday, she had a mini stroke. They were able to get her to the hospital in time before any major damage was done.
Doctors want to run some more tests (something about her heart ) and keep her there for a few days.
I'm very close to my grandma (my sisters and I are the only grandkids) and she hasn't been taking very good care of herself since grandpa died in 2002.
But I have to hand it to her, she's still as sharp as a tack, lives on her own and she'll be 90 on Dec. 26th!
Thanks!

I thinks this is my first personal request here...
hubby made an awful choice of bussiness with a "family" member of his... now we´re up to our neck in debt... this person is more than likely never gonna pay...
he sold both cars we had to get a better one.. but this better one has no papers and it´s still owed!!.. add to that that we might need to sell our house so the banks step back a bit..
at first the idea sounded good.. hubby lent his credit to get a car for him (or so I knew) and he would pay back in a month with whatever bussiness he had and hubby´s credit score would be awesome so we could get a bigger house.. well.. not... he started making monthly payments and hubby said "as long as it gets paid it´s ok".. then he stopped paying at all.. and now i know it was not one car but FIVE!!.. and guess you owes them... yup the hubs..
so I ask for prayers so this can get sorted out.. that we can pay the debt and still be able to have a home and car of our own... and of course that the mf relative pays us one way or the other..

Dear ones, would you say a prayer for my family's friend George, who was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor around Labor Day. He has had surgery followed by radiation and chemotherapy. A repeat MRI of his brain shows that the radiation and chemotherapy have basically done nothing and the tumor has begun to re-grow. He starts a second round of chemotherapy on Monday, Dec. 14 with a second-line drug, Avastin (every two weeks).
Thank you,

Prayers and positive thoughts are being sent to everyone in need.
I have two prayer requests. As many of you know my Sunny has been diagnosed with cancer.:( It's oral squamous cell carcinoma and it's a very aggressive form of cancer. Please send some prayers and positive thoughts his way. I hope to have a lot more good quality time left with him.
The second request is for my SIL's nephew. He's only 7 years old and he's been diagnosed with cancer.:( He was playing soccer and got hit in the chest really hard. Then he was complaining of being in pain. They took him to the doctor and he had internal bleeding which they were able to stop. They then took x-rays or an ultrasound and this is when they found several tumors on his liver.:( My mom told me this bad news today. She said that one form of this kind of cancer usually responds well to treatment but the other form doesn't. Hopefully he has the kind that will respond well to treatment. Thanks in advance.

My aunt...about 74, next oldest to my mom...
She smoked like a chimney and drank like a fish all her life. A few years ago - 7 maybe? - they found she had lung cancer. They removed a lower lobe from one lung; she stopped smoking totally after that. A year or two later - the lobe from the other lung. In both cases, they got it all.
A couple of months ago, x-rays showed a shadow. After all the scans and tests, she went into surgery again to have an upper lobe removed.
The cancer has moved into her lymph nodes; it's inoperable. The surgeons just closed her up again.
My mom once said that my aunt "was born angry". She had a hilarious and outspoken sense of humour.
They are going to maybe try chemo.
I am asking for prayers for my mom, her sister. Also - for my aunt - yet I feel she deserves peace after being at war with her world for so long.
Thanks.

My aunt, the one with cancer...I phoned her yesterday and she was sort of ok until I told her my mom had kept me informed. She started crying and said "I'll be fine," and that she would just go home and get ready for the chemo (it'll only give her a few extra weeks - and she does NOT have a good time with chemo). I told her she was a brave woman, and told her I loved her. "I love you too, sweetie," she said.
She was a radiology technician when younger. She is an amazing knitter - knits baby kits for the local hospital, and made beautiful sweater's for her nephew's two little boys. She does have a heart. Her dad was alcoholic and beat up mom...I guess each child responds a different way. I feel sorry for her - she did do the best she could, and she and my uncle raised two great boys.
If anyone can spare prayers - my wish for her is that she finds some serenity and peace within herself. A remission from cancer would be the ultimate miracle, but it doesn't seem likely.
Prayers for one wee moment of pure joy and peace.
Thanks.

Trivial prayer...but asking anyway.
Tomorrow I am going to a client's place to install a 2GB RAM kit. I bought this before Christmas - it was $62.+ including tax.
I can't find the d*** thing anywhere...not in my car, office...checked all coat pockets...I have NO idea where else to look!
I remember putting them in my carry bag after I bought them, and one of the staff was hauling an old computer tower out to my car.
I can only hope that when I go to the store to buy it AGAIN, that somehow I will have dropped it there.
This just sucks...and it's not a type I will use frequently at all. OH WELL.:(

Hello all, I check in here every so often to see how everyone is doing and for folks with prayer requests, and I have one to add to this chain. Recently my dad went in for surgery for what they thought was a hernia. They also found a mass which they removed, so that was unexpected. They didn't seem too concerned about it, but sent of a sample for a biopsy anyway. Turns out it was cancer. :( I have been so upset about this news and feel really helpless...like there's nothing I can do. I love my dad very much and am not ready to lose him. :( He's supposed to go in for some further tests to see if it has spread anywhere else, so I'm asking for prayers that they got it all during surgery and that everything will be ok and that it hasn't spread. Thank you all for caring!

My dear elderly friend Jennie is dying.
Her daughter and I had been messaging back and forth. My aunt is also ill with terminal cancer, and I wanted to see Jennie but needed to be here for my aunt AND my mom.
Jennie's daughter said that even though she had had a heart attack, the docs expected her to have another 18 months, so to give my family priority of course!
I was going to call Jennie Sunday but was exhausted.
Today - about 11 hours ago now - Jennie's daughter posted that she had spend 7 hours in emerg with her mom. Jennie has congestive heart failure. Trouble breathing...liver function has stopped. Kidneys are shutting down. To quote: "She is shutting down."
Prayers please that her passing is peaceful. Jennie knows how much she meant to me, and she and Pappy and I always said the "I love you's."
Thanks.

My grandmother was taken to hospital this morning. As yet, we are not sure exactly what the problem is, but from what we know so far she is in some substantial degree of pain.
She put up with the pain for an entire night because she didn't want to bother anyone. That is so typically her - as sweet as they come.
I don't usally ask for prayers, but a little PT magic has worked in the past. I will keep all others in this thread in my thoughts, too.

Yep. I've got an interview on Thursday - university hospital with a good reputation, with several primary care sites in the surrounding suburbs. They're looking for a nurse to handle insurance communications and discharge planning for patients from the primary care clinics who have managed care insurance and are admitted to the hospital. I can do that. I'd be happy working there because I got my master's from their program - and also because they now have an on-site fitness center, which they didn't when I was a student there. I'm sure I could do good work there and I'd learn a lot.
Thank you so much! I'll update after Thursday---

Good luck, cassiesmom! I'll definitely be thinking of you. :)
I feel bad asking this, it's pretty stupid. But I did really bad at auditions (let's not even go there) and I think I really put my job on the line...ugh. People have started getting calls already and I haven't yet. Can you please hope (WITH me!) that I got my job back? I also have another request..I have HSPA's next week - it's a graduation requirement - meaning I HAVE TO PASS them. If I don't pass them, then I need to take a class next year and drop one of my science courses that I REALLY need to take, and TAKE them again.. Please wish me luck next week with these exams? Thank you guys, and of course I'll be thinking of all of you too :)

Alan, her husband is missing and presumed dead.
He and his boss were caught in an avalanche yesterday while out on snow mobiles. :(

An update for those who PM'd. Alan's body was found a week after the avalanche. It was found 1 day after his and Dalon's 8th wedding anniversary. :( Alan was buried on February 26th.
Dalon is exhausted. Their 2 little boys are missing their daddy. Thank you for all your prayers -- keep 'em coming.

Update. Dad had one blocked artery, so he had one stent placed. he managed to avoid catching the cold my mom and I both had. It took about a week for him to get back to his usual energy level and he is still taking iron tablets.
No news on the job hunt yet. I've sent out a bunch of resumes, made a lot of follow-up calls. Nothing yet. I have a few more follow-up calls to make next week.

My husband and his family could use some prayers for his Grandmother. She is almost 99 years old and has been going downhill the last year. She now has pneumonia and is not expected to recover. Her wishes, and the families as well, is that she have her last days and hours at home, so she is under hospice care as well as her daughter and daughter-in-law who worked in the nursing field all their lives. On Friday we were told the hospice nurses expected her to only last another 4 or 5 days. So it's just a waiting game at this point.
Prayers for no suffering and a peaceful passing, and strength for the family would be nice.
Thank you for listening.
Edite: Minutes after I posted this we got the phone call that Grandmom had passed on.

6 years ago on 4-5-2004 my Grandma M met her Savior at 11:55pm.
I remember talking to my friends on AIM and their condolences and love I felt thru their words via a simple instant message, meant the world to me. I miss her everyday.
Almost 6 years later to the minute, @ ~ 9:15pm 4-5-10 my brother in law's grandmother C, left this world to be with her Savior after a short but brutal battle with pancreatic cancer that she was just diagnosed with the 2nd week of March 2010.
I know Grandma M was there to show her around. That's just the way she was.

Updates and a new request:
Dad is doing great. His biggest complaint is that his knees hurt (arthritis in both of them) when he walks around the block. The weather has been so nice that he and mom try to walk around the block every evening after supper. It is difficult for mom because of her post-infection arthritis so they go slow. His doctor said he should go back to cardiac rehab so he is on the waiting list for that.
I didn't get the job near the Mart. The building was beautiful, though - the old Chicago Central Office Building has had a major rehab.
New request: I have an interview for a position in the suburbs next week Tuesday morning. I'll keep you posted.
Thank you,

I have a very good friend who is also a classmate of mine, who is in the army reserves. We are starting 4th term of our Veterinary Technology program, she is my best friend.
PLEASE PLEASE pray that she is pulled from the battle roster, and that she DOES NOT have to leave! Thank you, this would mean so very much to me, as well as her.

My mom had rotator cuff surgery on March 2nd of this year. This was her 5th surgery on her shoulder. They were able to do another rotator cuff surgery but the surgeon told us that her muscle lining has become very thin and he wasn't sure if the stitches were going to hold up or not but we are hoping they would heal but I'm not sure if that's the case now or not. I've been helping her out when I can from time to time, my dad has actually been helping out which is good.
Anyway, she had a lot of pain after surgery which we expected but as the weeks went by she doesn't seem to be getting any better.
To make it worse she’s been getting nausea sometimes and gets these dizzy spells and she’s sick for a day or so and then she starts feeling better. She at the doctors today actually right now so I’m hoping they will tell her what’s been going on with that.
If you could spare a small pray that her shoulder starts feeling better soon I’d really appreciate it. She is supposed to have knee surgery soon (they finally said they would do that after many years of pain) which she doesn’t know if she will want to go through that but I’m just hoping her shoulder heals up and she won’t need a shoulder replacement or anything like that.
Thank you for the prays,
Melissa

My mom is the most caring woman I know. She is very intraverted (sp?) and so to some people that comes across as warmth and respect and to others it comes across as standoffish. I hate that she is so sad :(
She has a meeting with her managers tomorrow to discuss the incident so please send her lots of prayers and good vibes tomorrow. Thanks.

My best friend's father passed away suddenly last week, likely on Wednesday. He was only 54. They don't know what caused his death yet, but have done an autopsy and say the results will take about 6 weekd. He died in his home. Also, my friend is getting married in October and now will not have her father to walk her down the aisle :(
Please say some prayers for her and her sister. All the arrangements for his funeral are being handled by my friend, and with the wedding coming up, she is feeling so overwhelmed. Also, her sister is feeling a lot of guilt because she was estranged from her dad due to his alcholoism (which likely was a contributing factor to his death).
As well, he had a sweet kitty named Willy (pronounced Villy as her dad was German) who is completely terrified right now :( He was in the home when the father died and was in the apartment when the paramedics and everything came in the house. My friend now has him at her place and has him secluded in her bedroom but he won't come out and has not eaten, drank or used the kitty box since Friday. She's put out all his favourites and we are hoping he will come around slowly. So please include sweet tuxie Willy in your prayers, who is missing his Daddy and doesn't understand what's happening.
Thank you all, I appreciate it.

A prayer for comfort for a friend who lost her 2nd fur companion on Monday, 6/28, after losing the 1st one just a short time ago. This wasn't a natural aging process for either, but rather an intentional act of cruelty caused by a heartless and uncaring individual. One day, this person will be made to pay for the heartless actions that were inflicted upon a couple of innocent animals, and the pain and suffering and grief that was inflicted on the human of these wonderful animals as well.
May you find peace my friend, knowing that you did everything possible to save your precious companions, and in knowing you will be with them in a wonderful place one day. In the meantime, they again have each other, and you have two wonderful guardian angels.

Dear ones... Would you say a prayer for my brother Ray. He changed jobs 15 months ago after the family business finally fizzed out.
Thanks,
Elyse
The good news is ... Ray still has this job. The bad news is ... he is really not happy there. He is keeping a low profile, trying to do his work and hoping someone will eventually take notice of how unhappy he is. He's reluctant to say anything because he's concerned that if he does, his name will zoom to the top of the list of potential layoffs. I think he's got to say something but I definitely understand his reasons for keeping quiet. I'm praying that either things will get better or another position will come his way.

My first request is for one of our local communites that lost 3 - 16 year old kids in 2 separate accidents this weekend.
The second is a bit late - my dad had his knee replaced today - its been a long time coming but yet moved very quickly after he saw the doctor a few weeks ago.
he got along great and was awake all day long. very little pain so far -
tomorrow is another day -
I'll keep you posted - thanks!

:) Thanks Terri - but this is round two for him as well. He had the first (left) knee done in 91, then a revision on the left in 04, and this one is his right one. So he knows what to expect, I think this one will go smoother b/c in 91 he had a crushing injury and couldn't move it for 12 weeks prior to surgery and that really set him back.

A request please, for little Kyron Horman. He's the 7 year old Portland boy that went missing over a month ago from his school. His stepmom is apparently crazy and most likely was the culprit in his abduction, .. and no one knows where he is or if he's even still alive at this point.
We've been rivited here in as this sad story takes bizarre twists almost every day - but still no Kyron.
(btw - I don't want to take away from this prayer thread - if people want to talk about her they should start a thread in the doghouse instead).

Hi Rizzy,
Tonight I'm asking prayers for my Pastor. Pastor Alice is a 24-7 Pastor who is always there and ready to help anyone day or night. Unfortunately, there are some health issues. Over the Fourth of July she was admitted to the hospital when a wound on her leg became infected. Two days after being released to go home the ambulance had to be called. Pastor Alice was readmitted with a dislocated hip. When I talked to her husband, he said they have no idea of how this happened. With asthma and a history of 2 heart attacks this can be tricky.
Ours is a small congregation and Pastor Alice is loved by all of us. We have all joined forces to decide who can do what to ease Pastor's burden and keep our church running during her recovery.
Please join us in prayer for Pastor's swift and complete recovery.

Thank you,
Elyse
Update. George has been in hospice care for about a month or so and he died at home yesterday morning. Several family members were present- his wife, son, brother and sister-in-law. It's been almost a year since his diagnosis. He was the person who gave me my final confirmation exam in junior high, and he gave it to me in a way that made me really think about all I had learned in confirmation classes and how to apply it to my life. Not just going through the motions of confirmation as an age 13 ritual. I am sad but also a little bit relieved because he had been having really bad headaches the past several days.

Phred and the Three Amigos ~ Cinder, Smokey, and Heidi ~
are going to have to sit out the Findlay Labor Day Gathurin.
It's been a long time arriving ... it's crept up almost un-noticed; but the
Keen Observer couldn't help noticing the onset ...
Olde Age and the ugly symptoms of multiple ailments have moved onto
The Ranch and *kicked* Ole Phred pretty hard!
First it was the Heart Attack with multiple stents and one for a Kidney.
Next the Kidneys got weak ... and now we're only a few "points" away
from needing Dialysis for outright Kidney Failure.
The ole Heart keeps trying ... but it's loosing the battle of too much fluid
and high pressure because of the Kidney problems.
Net result is ole Phred has NO Energy.
Breathing therapy has helped ... but I still do too much struggling to breathe!
And now we have a new hurdle to fight ... the old "Circulation problem"
that only bothered one foot has spread to both feet ... complete with
foot and leg swelling. Walking has become difficult.
We're gonna **MISS* all you Guys, Gals, and Pups this Sunday ...
A few PT Prayers will surely be appreciated ...
We're hoping to return for Memorial Day, 2011.

Everyone who needs prayers, lots of prayers and positive thoughts are going out to you.
I need some good vibes sent my way. I had my annual mammogram on Fri. Aug. 27th. Ever since my mom had breast cancer I've been having one annually. The lady who screened me had to reposition me 3 extra times because she wasn't able to get a good reading on me so I was squished 7 times instead of the usual 4. She said that if it didn't look as good as last years then I'd be called back.
Well they called me on Tues. because they said that they need to do further testing. I was just thinking that it was because the lady wasn't able to position me very well and get a good reading. I left work early today because we were very slow. I did some shopping before I came home. When I got home I had a message from my gynocologist and she told me that I would be called back in for further testing on my mammogram. She didn't want me to be scared but she didn't go into any details. She left her work number so that she could explain it more to me but of course she was gone by the time I got the message. I'll either try to e-mail her or call her tomorrow morning.
I got a card in the mail from Kaiser tonight telling me that my recent mammography showed a finding that requires additonal imaging studies for a complete evalution. Most such findings are benign (not cancer). The additional images will allow the Radiologist to see the area(s) in question better. It then said that I'll be contacted to schedule the necessary imaging studies. I go back in on Tues. Sept 7th at 9am. I sure hope that they don't find anything.

Good luck, KAK, I'm sure everything will go fine.
So, my grandpa had to stay overnight in the hospital and my cousin stayed with him.
I'm going home here in about 3 hours, though I was planning on going before this happened, I'll get to see him. He's stuck in the hospital until they get the tests back and figure out why he is anemic.
I'll give you guys an update on Monday if I don't get to the library when I'm at home this weekend.

KAK: the same thing happened to me recently. I was called back for further testing and squished every which way. Turns out I have some calcifications (sp?) and I now have to go back every 6 months as they need to be monitored. For now, I'm not worrying about it but if you Mom had BC, I can only imagine what's going through your head. Remember, there's no sense worrying about something you have no control over.

Thanks Gini and everyone else.:) I'm fine. I ended up having another regular screening of my left breast so I had to be squished 3 more times. I know that in my mom's case her's wasn't found in a mammagram and she also said that they couldn't find anything in an ultrasound either.:( During a physical, her regular doctor found some enlarged lymph nodes under her armpit and they then tested these and found the cancer that way.:(

Dang,
Prayers sent out for everyone who has posted about a problem or loss in their family lately.
In between the time that we laugh and smile in life we run across a time when everything seem to go wrong. We can never be sure about what happens tomorrow, we can only stop, pray and hope that these moments won't last long.
Sometimes we think there is no end to the pain or confusion of the moment.
There is.
We just have to tough it out, tomorrow is another day and we are that much more removed from the 'right now'.
Sending prayers out to everyone who needs them.
God bless you all.

I am sorry I do not frequent this thread. I promise I will come back and get a little updated on it.
I have a couple things I'd like to share here.
Last weekend one of Bruce's good friends committed suicide. He could not face the fact that he was financially strapped. He had moved to Ohio and purchased a bar. It didn't work out. So he and his girlfriend were all packed up and ready to leave to come back to California this past Monday. Saturday morning she went to the airport to pick up her dad (he was going to make the trip with them). When they got home they found him hanging from the tree in the backyard. Bruce does not know how to even deal with this. He was such a great guy. He was one of our biker buddies. RIP Don, I hope you are free of the pain and stress now.
Another thing I learned last night is the mother of one of my best friends has brain cancer. I have known my friend since we were 10 (that's 27 years of friendship), so I've known her mother that long as well. She is an active woman, so very full of life. Oh, and I might mention these woman suffered another loss last year when my friends brother took his own life as well. So my friend lost her brother and now soon her mother. She does have options. Radiation can give her a couple more years. No radiation will give her about 6 months. I have not talked with my friend yet. But I am going to see her next weekend.
Please keep us and these families in your thoughts. Thank you.

Please say a prayer for my dad.
He was struck by a car while walking across a street to work yesterday
(luckily he happens to work at a hospital).
He's doing okay, as best as to be expected I guess,
but he has a ton of broken and fractured bones in multiple places
and he's in a lot of pain.
He had surgery on his leg yesterday and is looking at another surgery for his ribs.
He could use some extra prayers, thanks.
PT Prayers on the way, Amy!

Also, please send a prayer out that Rusty the African grey will be returned home safe and sound to my friend Betsy in Tennessee. He flew away last night and she is devistated. :(

Dear Phred - may these healing prayers that I offer for you be heard.
Amy's Dad needs prayers too - no more, nor no less than you do.
And Kelly - how I pray that you heal soon and are out of pain. You are just simply too young to be having such serious problems.
My neighbor's son is having major surgery tomorrow - if you could spare a moment to offer him a prayer it would be deeply appreciated.

Prayers going out for my aunt Marlene. Her husband, my uncle Steve, was just killed in a car accident. He was in his upper 80's. Not sure of how it happened, or who was at fault. Just that he died in the hospital. So sad. He was a funny guy, always full of jokes.

If you could, please spare some positive vibes for me tomorrow. I have
to have another CAT scan (head)to see if the aneurysm discoved a year

not have to go back for any more tests. Thanks and prayers & good thoughts

Great news, lizbud! I'll never complain about the yearly - er - 'female' checkup again. At least that little beastie is being watched closely. :)
I am sending a huge thank you prayer to my best and long time friend. She knows I have been struggling financially - as has she, being on a disability income. But she was able to work a job for a few weeks, and sent me an early Christmas gift - a chink of money via electronic email transfer! Manna from Heaven! It wasn't a lot by many standards - but it took a weight off, and I splurged a tiny bit on things I wanted: Henna for my hair (am trying brown), an OTT full spectrum light that my doctor recommended, and I guess a haircut to go with the colour.
THANK YOU!!!! :love::love::love:

Yes, phred's back in the hospital. I hesitated posting here b/c he hadn't given me permission to do so on the forum and I didn't want to invade his privacy. He gave me the all clear today so here is the update. He is now on dialysis and getting treatments of it every other day or so. Some days are better than others. He feels better on the days he doesn't get it.
He has his cell phone with him so anyone that has that and wants to call him please feel free. He had trouble remembering the name of the hospital he was in so I'm still working on that. If anyone wants his cell number please PM me and I'll get it to you.
Just please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He needs it. :(
edited to add
I think I found the hospital he is in - it doesn't say if it allows e-cards or anything but there is an address listed on the website. He has no idea how much longer he will be in he feels it will be a long time b/c he can hardly walk and can't take care of himself. So calling his cell phone might be the way to go.

I sent Phred an e-mail only a couple of days ago and had no idea he was in hospital. I'm SO very sorry to hear it. :(
Phred told me in August that he would need dialysis, and he has some other health problems. I really hope the treatment will help him feel better and he be able to go home.
I suggest that we who know him well, send cards and give him a ring - and whatever is needed!
Staci, if you're in touch with him, could you please ask how we can help him the best way?
Who is taking care of Cinder, Smoke and Heidi?
Phred is THE pillar of Pet Talk and I really think we should do all we can to help Phred feel better. He is such a wonderful man!
I have his phone no. but not sure if it's his cell phone. I will try to give him a ring tomorrow.
Dear Phred, I'm sending lots and lots of good thought for you to get over this!! Please doctors, make an effort - this is important!!

Looks like I will be asking for back to back prayers. This week, tomorrow, it is for the J-dog, Jasper, as he is having a mass removed from his shoulder. I had hoped it would be set for Tuesday, as I am off on Wednesday, through the following Monday for the holiday. So, prayers for Jasper, that the surgery will be smooth, and the biopsy non cancerous.
The prayers for the next monday involve my neice, Samantha, as well as my sister, Jessica. Sam is having a kidney transplant on Tuesday, the (a long time coming) and my sister is the donor. As you can imagine, this is a very big time for them, and we are simply fraught with worry.
Thanks,

Staci and all, I found this under Communications on the hospital website:
Communication Needs
Televisions
In-room television is available in every patient room.
Telephone Service
Local calls are available for no additional charge. Please ask your nurse on how to access an outside line.
Personal Electronics
Laptops and personal music/video players can be used in your room, but it must be inspected and approved for use by our Bio-Medical staff. Select Specialty Hospital is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Cell phones may be used in designated areas.
Mail
Mail is delivered to Select Specialty Hospital daily with exception of Sunday and federal holidays. Outgoing mail can be dropped off at the nurses' station.
Interpreter Services
Select Specialty Hospital offers care-related interpreter services for patients with limited English proficiency. This service is free of charge. Please contact your nurse, physician, case manager, or Hospital Administrative staff for additional information.
My guess is that unless Phred has access to his own computer, emailing him directly is not possible. Maybe someone near there could take a laptop in to him and he could read emails of FB posts. I don't know who visits him, though.

A small update on Jasper. The mass appears to be benign. It will be biopsied, just to be certain.
It appears the mass was scar tissue, from an old trauma- one made with a shotgun. :( The scar tissue was located under two bigger scars in the skin. The area around it, perhaps 8 inches around, is peppered with buckshot marks, or that is what it seems. My vet said he has operated on beagles/hunters that inadvertantly got shot, and that is what the marks seem like. :( My poor, sweet, timid boy. Anyhow, it is what it is, and it explains his personality so much.
I will be bumping up Sam's story, in prep for the surgery. Sure could use Phred right now. :(

I'm posting this to ask for your prayers for a very special woman.
After 8 weeks in intensive care, our Pastor passed away this past Tuesday. The doctors sedated Pastor Alice, she was on a respirator and a few weeks ago the doctors did a tracheotomy to help her breathing. During this period of time, her husband Jeff never left her side.
Pastor Alice was everything a pastor should be. She was always available, day and night, to anyone for any reason. During her 14 years leading our small church, Pastor Alice started a food pantry that serves our community well, a swap-shop, and an ESL program. Every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, Pastor would have a holiday dinner at her house and everyone was welcome.
Her passing is a tremendous loss not only to our church but to the community as well.

Prayers for those who need them - especially Phred. My family could use some prayers. My grandma probably isn't going to make it through tomorrow. We went and said our goodbyes tonight, it was really hard. :( At least she will be with my grandpa now. We lost Corby's grandpa earlier this year so its been a rough year. :( My parents are already dealing with a lot with my dad getting hit by a car he's still wheelchair bound so for him to be able to come home for christmas they'll have to put in ramps and such.
