This is my puppy, Kira. I've had her about a month. I was wondering what breed she was. All I know is that she is a herding dog. But, she could be almost any type of herding dog. Her brothers looked like big border collies. She was the smallest one. She is very smart and energetic. Any ideas?

In those pictures I think she was about 9 weeks. She's getting feathering like a border collie or english sheperd.

I think you need to have Orangutango take a look at this thread. Your pup looks a lot like Tango and her brothers and sisters (particularly Winter -- maybe she'll post a pic of him/her for you, I have them in a PM but I don't want to post without permission ;)).

Tango is a Border Collie/Toller ... and I definetly think your pup has Border Collie in her. I don't really think Sheltie or ACD but it'll be easier to tell once she's grown up.

I'd say Border Collie mix (not sure with what though). I don't see any Toller at all in her (well, except for the orangey-brown colour) judging by body style, head shape and ear set. She does have similar markings to Tango's brother, Winter like Sarah already pointed out but a lot of dogs can have those same markings.

Here are some pics of Winter for marking comparison:

We'll have to see what she looks like when she gets older to make a better guess, pups are hard. Also, the other reason I say there isn't Toller in her is because fortunately there aren't a whole lot of people irresponsibly breeding Tollers. They're still considered a pretty rare breed right now.

I put some sheltie or collie in her from that ear set. My best guess would be border collie/sheltie, considering these two aren't hard to find in abundance.

this is a saint bernard/chow
as orangutango said many breeds can have this kind of colorings, but we do need to wait and see how she grows

Like mentioned it is hard to really tell at this age. She is a cutie thats for sure.

So many breeds are popping out at me when I look at her, Akita, St. Bernard, Aussies, BC, Sheltie, ACD, collie....

the ears make me think Sheltie. as for the colour, purbred BCs come in sable and saddleback sable as well, that cant be ruled out.

I agree I also agree I also see Akita,St.Bernard. As soon as I saw her I thought border collie. She looks alot like Tango's brother Winter.
What ever she is she's adorable
