Just to let all of you know that I bought the Bunny shampoo and preparing myself and Bunny for that bath I was seeking advice about, wish me luck.

Oh, one last thing, those who have given their rabbit a bath, will I need to wear rubber gloves to protect myself from those claws or are they usually quite relaxed about it?

Miss Emma has been a perfect lady when I give her a bath and I have not needed an gloves.....but I did not a lot more towels that I thought and I only got her backend wet! Bunny fur is so dense and thick. She sat with her butt in the water and her front feet on the rim of the tub and did not try to get away or jump. When I snipped off a couple of knots and then dryed her with a hair dryer I got a kiss....so I think she thought she needed a bath too! ;) Good luck with Bunny. Let us know how it goes.

Don't worry Daisy, I knew what you meant anyway. Thanks for the advice - always helpful.

How is life at the rabbit sanctuary? I'd love to help out at something like that but they don't have any in my area.

Oh news about the timothy hay. I was going to be to expensive to ship it from the states. I ordered some from here in the UK but It is expensive here. Good news though the company I am buying it from

www.bunnybazaar.co.uk

are local so they are going to deliver it in person, they called last night, so I will save myself £4.00 or in dollars around $7.00. i thought it was really great of them to do that, so with the savings I was able to buy them a little rabbit tunnel that they can sit under and have fun with.

Good customer service or what?

Casper & Kitty and Heather....So glad you understood what I was TRYING to say, and not what I said!!!! Sometimes I think dementia is setting in.......when in reality it's just my brain is a lot faster than my fingers...

I am so glad you found a local source for the timmy hay Heather. And they deliver...I am so envious! :) You'll find that your buns are going to love the tunnel. You might try giving them a big cardboard box turned upside down and cutting 2 doors in it on 2 diff. sides (so they don't get trapped if one door gets pushed against a wall...) That's my guys other favorite toy. An old towel is pretty good too. My Chocolate will bunch it up underneath her tummy and then smooth it all back out..and then bunch it up again.... She is obviously easily amused.

Things are going well out at the bunny sanctuary.
We're trying to get ready for the warmer weather and doing all kinds of clean up from winter debris. We also have started converting an old garage into a bunny hospital/geriatric center!!!
Our bunny population is starting to get older, and as they get older they can't handle the stress from the changes in temperatures, or they get sick and need to be isolated for a while. It is so much work to get ready but it will be really nice once it's done. I'm sorry you don't have someplace similar where you can volunteer. I really enjoy it....especially after I have had a BAD day...I can go there and all the aggravations seem to fall away. You are lucky in that I imagine that you get to spend a lot of time with your bunnies. Since I'm at the sanctuary 2-3 times/week, I get to feeling guilty that I don't spend enough time with them. I'm trying to spend at least one hour each night with them but feel it's not enough... I console myself by remembering that they have each other during the day. Still, I wish I could be there more.....;)

I'm sure your bunnies are content with their life with all those fab toys they have.

I tried the cardboard box thing but they where not interested, I even tired showing them how it worked but still, not interested in the whole thing. I thought the tunnel was a good idea for the summer time when they are in their rabbit run, thought it would shelter thenm from the shade.

Bunnies are very proper and dignified. Of COURSE they wouldn't be interested in a cardboard box right away.... How low class to be caught PLAYING in a cardboard box!!!! You might give them a week or so with it. I think you'll find that eventually their curiousity will overcome their reticience at being seen with something that TACKY ;) and they'll probably end up loving it!
