My kitten, Ghost, has been acting odd. This is my first cat so I don't know if it's heat or not. She raises her rear and holds it up for a while, bends her back legs and tries to walk like that. She makes terrible mewing sounds that sound very different than normal. Is she in heat? Thanks.

That definitely sounds like the behavior associated with a cat being in heat. When my parent in laws cat would go into heat, she would do that and then if you were nearby, sometimes she would back up and rub herself on your foot. Or other objects also. O_o She would also roll around on the ground and mew pitifully like "I.. am... SO... AHHHHH" lmao

Yep sounds like it! My Katie went into heat right before we were able to have her fixed and she drove us crazy! She made the most horrible sounds...are you planning to get your cat spayed? You might want to make an appointment as soon as she is out of heat, as the vet can't do it when she's in heat.

Sounds like she is in heat. Be very careful to keep her in and separated from any male cats.
I'd call the vet now...or check if there are any spay clinics in your area. The time between her heat cycles will get shorter and shorter and repeated heats can cause her and you frustration that could cause her to develop some behavior problems.
She and you will be happier once she has been spayed.
It is great you are aware and concerned about her. Aren't cats great?
