Lady was surrendered to the shelter with her mother. Her mother is said to be a Husky. I'm assuming her father is BC or ES because Lady has many Bc traits and she was listed as BC and Husky. All her vacinations etc.. say that as her breed. I was wondering what breed you think her mother is, because she doesn't IMO look pure Husky. From what I know about her she is extremely over weight in the picture, and she was extremely vocal.

I have also attached a picture of Lady. Her mother is the b+w dog

Hey Nicole.. do you guys know for sure that that is Lady's mom?

Yes we do because they were an owner surrender, and the lady had had Lady all her life. She was surrendered due to a family illness. Lady was 1 1/2 and Keesha was 3. I personally don't see any resemblence between Lady and her mom. That is why I think it is difficult to tell what breeds a mix is, going completly by looks.

Hehe, yeah.. I see no resemblance either.. but maybe Lady got a lot of what her Dad looked like, ya know?

Her Mom looks a bit Husky to me, but honestly I can't tell.. people here are pretty good at guessing mixes, so expect some good replies! :)

Lady looks more like a Husky mix than her Mom does, but maybe her Mom is just very overweight - she looks kinda stocky and short-legged for a Husky. Her coat also looks too long to be a Husky, so maybe Mom is a BC/Husky mix, and Lady is more of a Mystery!

All dog, in both cases!

EXACTLY what I Was going to say -- the coat pattern suggests Aussie to me, but the body looks husky

I'm starting to think Lady is BC and Aussie mix with a little husky sprinkled in,

there are some husky patterns a bit alike but "Mother" seem to bve more a husky mix, even there are also long haired ones, and "Lady" looks like a husky/shepherd/bc.

piebald pattern

and some wooly coats

so both traits combined could be a pure husky, but it sure looks like a mix, and Lady seems to have more tan markings as in a shepherd mix

I don't think Lady has any shepherd in her.She just has sable coloring

I don't think Lady would be considered Sable. More like Black w/ tan. lol

all of her black on her coat, is tan at the base, or would that be considered brindle, i get those confused

I don't see Husky when looking at her mom, I see Samoyed. Her mom looks BC/Samoyed to me.

By looking at Lady she looks like an Aussie mix, but I honestly can't say the other parts. It's really the shape of her face and her type of fur that look Aussie, but nothing else really. Lady is a hard one to guess!

But her mom, to me, definetly looks BC/Samoyed.

She's not a brindle, brindle is dofferent shades of black, brown, red, etc... in a stripe like pattern. Here's a good site on different brindle colors:
brindle colors (http://www.worldwideboxer.com/COLOUR.html)

I don't think she'd be considered a sable either, sable is more where the browns & blacks kind of slowly blend together throghout the body of the dog, like you would see often in Collies & German Shepherds and the like.

I think Lady is considered just a black & tan dog, *maybe* with a *little* bit of sable mixed in, but because she doesn't have a lot of sable on her body she'd probably be considered a black & tan, or black with tan points, which is the same thing anyways. :p
