Yes guys, hold onto your seat, write down the date, a miracle has happened and I'm about to post more than one measley little picture of my big sweetheart! :D Please be nice to her, she's very shy and sensitive ;)

I asked her to give me paw, but look at the fear in her eyes as I snap the photo -- she's terrified I might decide to attempt to trim her nails.... I wish I could: loookie at those daggers! :eek: I value my blood too much to try to trim them though. Its too much trauma for everyone involved. We used to be able to keep them trim by walking her and they'd wear down naturally, but she doesn't want to walk anymore :(

LOL... yup, a big 100 pound baby who loves the cats and thinks hubby walks on water. She's getting old now and I worry about her, but right now she's sitting outside on the leash watching the world go by and is enjoying herself immensely.

Thank God my neighbors don't complain of her barking, because right now she's wagging her tail a mile a minute and barking at the people who walk by, having a great old time :) My nieghbors LOVE Miss Nicki and even think her famous middle of the night howling at ambulances is cute. :p

She might love them but would never ever in a million years let one cuddle with her. I was floored the other night when Flutter was laying next to her and actually making happy feet on Nicki's back! :eek: Either Nicki was too tired to move, or she liked the feeling of Flutter massaging her back! :D :D :D

Nicki does have a sensative soul you can tell from her eyes. Such
a sweetie. :) It's a shame she doesn't like her feet handled. Those long
nails could also cause her feet to hurt when walking around. I'm so glad
you shared her pictures.

I can understand about the nails. I took Keeg to Petsmart the other day and her nails were so long she kept falling on the floor! :o
Unfortunately, she does have a tendency to slip on the tiled kitchen floor. So we just put down a trail of rubber-backed mats so she can walk though the kitchen to go outside, etc. She positively REFUSES to let us trim her nails. I've tried and tried. I even had Jen Luckenbach (who's a professional dog groomer) stop by and trim her nails. Jen got the teensiest piece of nail off ONE paw, and then couldn't do anything else.

I know it stems from when she was a puppy. I took her like a good owner to have her nails trimmed. It never occured to me til much later it was something I could do myself, anyway, EVERY time I took her the groomer they clipped her quick at least once on each paw (and I tried SEVERAL groomers). She'd come home with at least 6 bloody nails. Even the vet tried and cut her quick several times. Now she flat-out fights anyone who tries to trim those monster nails.

I must have missed this thread. You know how much i've been begging to see photos of her. She has the sweetest face and looks so lovable. I guess i'm lucky to have pups who don't mind their nails cut!

Now you see, Nicki has got many replies and YES we do want to see her... so keep posting over here!!
