As you can tell, i'm back. Actually got home last night but didnt feel like doing any pic resizing or posting so i went to sleep. Finally have some time now to do that...
It was a great exeperience, we had a good time!
The first day we got a late start and the road up to Springer Mountain was icy in alot of parts and then it became so icy that we couldnt make it to the top so we got out and hiked the Benton Mackay Trail and met up with the AT after a few miles. We made it to the Stover Shelter and decided to stay since the next shelter was another 5 miles and it was already 3, plus it was the first shelter so we just had to stay . We met a nice guy who as finishing his thru hike(MA to GA, 2000 miles). The next morning we again got a late start because my brother gary took too long to ge tup :x. We made it to the Hawk Mountain Shelter and it was a nice one plus it had a privy so we stayed again(next shelter was 8 miles away anywayz). A few hours later a guy and his girlfriend showed up and staye at the shelter...they were ok...the guy was finishing his through hike and his girlfriend joined him about 60 miles back. Me and my cousin put our food and the trash up on the bear cables to keep them away from rodents..my 2 brothers didnt think it was necessary and some mice or something got into their food and ate some of their trail mix . The 3rd day we got another late start thanx to my brother gary agai :x :x. We made it about 5 miles to Cooper Gap and decided to call it quits cause we were runnin low on food and were out of water with no water source in site.
I must say i hated sleeping at night...i'm a pansy  but i loved the hiking in the day and the whole experience of cooking your food over a fire(we only used our lil stove for boiling water cause the fire took too long for that) and getting water out of the creek and filtering it....it was all great! The hills killed me though  so my next hike is going to be somewhere MUCH flatter  i'm thinkin Shawnee National Forest for my next hike/camping.
We have around 200-300 digital pics plus 3 disposable cameras that took 39 pics each  these pics are from my brothers camera...my pics from my camera on our the other computer so i'll put those up later
finally here are the pics
i'll post some here and you can go see more at this link if you want
