Cats. I grew up with dogs (Airedales) and I am an animal lover. We had parakeets, gerbils, turtles, you name it!!

I am also a reformed cat hater. Honestly! I thought they were the most annoying animal. I SWORE I'd never get a cat cuz I didn't like them climbing on the counters. Then my daughter convinced me to adopt Mollie Rose. That was 12 years ago and MANY cats later!! Now I couldn't care less if they walked on the counter! I prefer cat's company to dogs. There's nothing wrong with that!

I voted dogs, I always thought of myself as more of a dog person, probably because I grew up with a dog and it wasn't until a few years ago that I had a cat of my own. As I'm sitting her typing this I have Jimmy on one side of me and Oliver on the other. Oliver looks up at me with his big green eyes and I know I am just as much a cat person as I am a dog person. I could never live without either.

Wasn't hard at all. I like cats, they are nice pets and all, but dogs are number one in my heart and world. I will NEVER live without a dog in my future - they are my heart and soul.

Same here! :eek: I H-a-t-e-d cats until about 3 years ago when I got my RB cat, Neeko! :rolleyes:

But I love dogs and I've ALWAYS loved them... so I voted for them. Cats rule too, though! :D

I have always been a cat person but since getting casey and bubba and now gigi passing on I voted dogs, just because I don't have a cat now. I miss gigi terribly though....

Cats are much easier I must say, you could go on vacation and have someone check on your kitty every other day and they would be fine, dogs...well...no vacation without the dogs now!

I guess I'm going to just have to not vote. There's no way I could choose. The only reason I have only Finn is because my ex and I got a kitten, then Finn. And, when I moved out, it was a no brainer that Finn would go with me and Lock would stay with Chris. Not because I didn't want Lock at all, just with the housing and everything, and, I was Finn's main caretaker. Chris worked way too much to keep a dog on his own...and, I'd have gotten a cat if I'd been able to afford two pets...and, now I live at home and my parents won't get another cat for awhile, if ever, after losing our cat, Dusty. But, yeah, I can't and won't choose. ;) That poll is too hard for me to vote on. :)

Cats never seem to like me? I don't know why because I love kitties...It must be the dog sents all over me!

Dogs will always take my heart before a cat. That is the way I am. Although, I would never turn my head from a cat that needs help. I won't ever turn away from any animal that needs help! I am guilty of buying a sick fish and actaully saving it from a bad petstore... :o

I'm a confirmed horse nut from my teenage years (I had to board mine in the early years when I could finally support my horse habit). I'm a long time cat owner (I had pet rodents and many fish as well) but after I finished school, married and bought a home with small acreage -- I was finally able to have dogs and just about any critters I wanted.

For me dogs win hands down! :)

In one package, you have portability, a cuddler, loyalty/love, a guardian, a companion and interested partner, one who watches while you sleep, who can help carry things for you (help me keep my balance, I'm disabled), work (oversee livestock) and play to make me laugh, alert me to danger (on coming car, I'm deaf)... and they accept all the same benefits in return. For me, there is just no comparison to the versatility and the partnership one can share with a dog! :) :cool: :D

Thus was a hard poll for me, but I chose cats. when I'm older I would rather have more cats then dogs, that is really what I based my choice on. It's not that I don't love my dog that I have right now as much as my cats, I just would prefer to have more cats then dogs.

I definately chose dogs. I've owned dogs all my life, and probably always will.

I'm very allergic to cats, and could never touch them or pet them, for as long as I can remember. So I guess I just "wrote them off" as a pet I could ever own or love. If that weren't the case, I'd probably be torn between the two as well.

Well, if I have to choose....

I love them both so much, but I would pick dogs. They are more friendly than cats and easier to train!! Don't have to worry about litter in between your toes if you go a pup!!

I voted cats. Because I've been a cat lover longer than dogs. Not that I didn't love dogs, but my sister was the dog owner and I was the cat owner growing up. I only liked the dogs while they were puppies. Of course that's all changed since I've grown up. Now I love ALL dogs and cats!!

Dogs hands down! No offense to cats, I've met a few cute ones but I prefer the bigger cats like leopards, tigers and lions but you can't have those in your house! So I'd have to go with dogs...plus I'm allergic to cats. ;)

Umm... um...right now it's cats, cause I've only ever had a cat all my life, but I know someday when I can own my own dog it will most likely switch to dogs, I just love dogs they are so perty, I just havne't had the honor of owning my own yet but I will someday!
