how do i end his suffering??

:( my betta is still not doing very good, Brandon is bearing himself in the rocks not swimming, not eating, not breathing very much. all i want to do is I want to help him, do i end his suffering? do i just let him die?? It just gets me worried! :(

Maybe you should tell him he can go know and that you love him.I have heard of people and animals staying alive so there loved one can tell them to go.

I know it's hard, but the best thing to do is just let him go when he's ready. Just keep him comfortable. Happy trails little dude.

It isn't very hard for me, I love him and all but i just want him to not suffer. :(

I'm having the same exact thing happening with my betta, Coral. She's been pretty sick lately for a month or two now, and I just don't know what to do, she's so lifeless!:( I feel for you, it's no easy thing, but sometimes you just have to let your pet go.:(

Have you (and Katie) tried looking up all of the diseases common to Bettas and attempting to match up the illnesses? Does he have any sores or white fuzz on his body? It sounds like it could be an internal or external bacteria... there ARE medicines that might save him, if you could identify what's going on.

:( I hope he makes it, and if not I hope he isn't in pain. A common way to euthanize Bettas is to put them in a cup and add a spoonful of clove oil. Or, put them in a sealed container in the freezer. Both processes are painless.

thanks you for that info, he had ick a couple weeks ago and bought some stuff and that cured that, but thanks I will look online for more info.

I don't think you should euthanize him. Sometimes it's just a mystery illness and it goes away...I've heard of bettas becoming depressed, maybe you could put him in a different spot or near another male?

Yeah, try putting him near another betta! Hopefully, that will help. There is medicines. But you have to get the sickness first.

I tried to some reserch and the close i could find is Swim Bladder Disease. I contacted the person who wrote that page and I asked them if my betta could have it and described what is going on.
