Collin is humping again, he started up and won't stop. Last night he jumped on my head and was humping me, so I took him and put him outside my bedroom and shut the door. He banged on the door for like 20 minutes!! I don't know why he's doing this but I'm not letting him sleep with me if he's going to act like that. The vet and petstore people(their smart here) don't know what's going on and have never heard of a cat doing that. So what do you guys think? He's healthy, 13 years old, been neutered since he was kitten, and we havent's had new cats in here for awhile now... since like Oct. I think and he wasn't doing it then, well not to me. He also does this to my mom, twin sister, and that's about it.

Neither your vet nor the petstore people are aware that cats 'hump'? LOL...that is kind of weird that they aren't aware of that. Maybe it is cause I had one that did? My RB Tex did it. Sometimes often, sometimes not very often. At first, I was irritated by it, but, then realized it was totally normal. What I suggest you do is find a 'lovey' for your kitty, and allow him to hump that. Don't get mad at him. He can't help it. Kicking him out of your room won't make him change.
Tex seemed to love to do it to this afghan and one particular stuffed bear I had. Maybe there is an item your cat would respond to similarly?

Eddie likes to hump. He thought my foot under the covers would be a good idea. I didn't. So I make him a "lovey." I started by putting a towel on my foot and then moved the towel to a pillow. That is his lovey.
When he wants lovey (it seems to be important that I fluff the towel onto the pillow) he yowls...and believe me....I know what he wants.
My husband says when I am not home he has no interest in him lovey...but we won't go there....too, too wierd   ;)

I'm going to try the lovey thing, but it hurts when he humps me, because he does it to my head and pulls my hair with his paws, I'm am very very tender headed, so I just don't want him to do it to me.

Check out the "purrno" thread for examples of boy kitties with their "girlfriends"! :D ;) :p

Thanks, smokey for rising to the defense of our strange male kitties. Yup, go to the Purrno thread and you will see my beautiful big golden boybee having his way with Muffy the teddy bear. It's completely normal and instinctive kitty behavior. Get your kitty a stuffy or something soft and squishy that he can hump.
I'm so used to Mishi doing it; it just makes me smile and makes for some hilarious pictures for me to post here in PT :D

Oh gosh yeah. Cats hump. Boy, do they hump. Nothing worse than driving down a busy highway with your cat in the car with you and you look in your rearview mirror to find.... your cat going at it with a stuffed dog in your rearview window. And everyone in the world can see!!
