What has worked best with brushing your short haired dog. I'm looking for some type of shedding brush that works well. The Muttlies all have different coats.. but they are all under 1-1&1/2 inches long.
Nala has a somewhat thick undercoat - I sat there and rubbed her for about 10 minutes last night and got more fur out with my hands than I ever have with any brush. Atleast a freezer bag full.
Kiara doesn't shed much as she doesn't have an undercoat.
Simba has somewhat of an undercoat but he has the longest fur out of all 3 and sheds quite a bit.
I think Nala is my worst shedder. What kind of brushes do you recommend. I'll be ordering from www.petedge.com soon so if you see one on there that will work well, let me know. :)

We use a shedding blade like we do for the cats. They make larger, dog-sized ones, but we usually just use the one that we have. It works well for us.

Well, Niņo shedds like a dal and that will never change but he has wirey hair about 1 inch long with a slight undercoat around the neck and base of tail. He won't ever stop shedding but a flea/tick comb works the best for us.
THIS (http://www.petedge.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=828&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=12&iSubCat=142&iSubSubCat=144&iProductID=828) is the kind of thing that removes all the dead hair and the kind of stuff they would shedd.

I really like zoom grooms made by kong for short haired dogs. You can use them wet during the bath or you can use them dry. Just rub with firm pressure in a circular motion. They're great... even better you can buy them at walmart...
I'll take a look at the petedge site though and see if I see anything I've used at work that might work for you.

A zoom groom seems to work best for us.

I know Nala's hair probably isn't Rottie length but I always used a Zoom Groom on them aswell as a shedding blade, both seemed to work really well.
for Misty and Ripley curry brushes work best, but Perky needs to be hand striped, nothing else does a think on her.

The slicker brushes work the best on Raustyk. And it even puts a nice finishing touch on Nanooks coat, after he gets a good brushing of course.

I use a soft and shirt haired bristle brush for my two.
Important thing to get that dead fur off is brush them backwards or against the grain.

I use a shedding blade for Star, whose hair is medium-length. Combined with a slicker, it seems to do the trick.

I have a Bamboo undercoat rake. It's amazing! I love that thing!
