I have 4 Border Collies. Does anyone else have a Border Collie? Does anyone here like them? :) They are such great, obedient dogs! I wouldn't believe it if someone did not like Border Collies. Everyone one in my family has one - we have all grew up with them and still love them!

I've never had one but one came up to me in a park a few years ago to be petted and he was soooooo sweet. His name was Diesel. I have also seen one near my house who is very well trained in crossing the road. They are very intelligent aren't they?:)

I would never ever get another breed. They are just the most perfect breed for me. And I believe they are the most obedient dogs and the quickest learners. I work with my Border Collies everyday in herding, flyball, obedience, and agility, if you tell them to do something, there are right at it. And they are also very quick.

They are LOVELY dogs. I adopted a 7 year old from my local shelter 7 years ago, and she was an AWESOME dog, her name was Kash, and she was one of the most active, and most sweet dogs I have ever had. And she was also VERY obedient.

I like BCs. I may own one someday as they are so good at agility and ... aren't they the smartest breed? I think they are and if not they are in the top 5 of smartest breeds. I would have to do more research on the breed before I owned one, though. The ones at work generally get on my nerves but I honestly believe it's because they are so high energy and so being locked up in a crate most of the day isn't easy for them ;)

Yes borders are the most intelligent dog breed around. Can't get any smarter.
Although Poodles are number 2 which suprised me.
Anyway heres some pcis of my Diva, Sasha. Shes a BC/Terrier mix. Shes the size of a jack russel but shes al BC in attitude and herding and drive and everything

She looks just like a mini border collie!! Too cute :D
Blaze is adorable!

11-28-2005, 12:33 PM
yea thats pretty much what she is.
I should just start saying shes a Mini Border when people ask what she is.. Lol
Cause i just consider her a border collie. I dont really see her as a mix, cause the only thing thats mixed on her is her tail and her size.

Yup they're about medium-sized dogs, about the same size as Aussies, which are on average about 40 - 45 pounds at adult weight :)

Sometimes people ask me if my dog is a BC or a BC mix because of the way she moves and stares. She is a Belgian groenendael though. Our herding teacher breeds border collies. They are neat to watch, but really not my kind of breed. I groom many of them at work and they are just so not for me.

We have 4 Border Collies Sandy, Stacy, Molly, and Jasper and they are very, very, well SUPER smart. They try to herd our other dogs but one of them is an Akita and he just won't have the herding thing. We will try to put some pics up of them but you can see Stacy do her thing, shaking her butt while dancing to the twist by chubby checker. Play the song and the video at the same time, it's soo funny. Click Here (http://www.astralenterprise.com/Dogs/astralpupdetails.asp?Dog_ID=5)

Many years ago I rescued a mom Border Collie and her six all female pups from next to very busy train tracks! I was on a date, and walking along, and something must have told us to cross the street! That's when in the dark I heard whimpering and barking. It was too dark to climb down the very steep hill at night, so the nextday I skipped school and took a bus to the area. I got some food at the nearby market, stole a few blankets from a Goodwill donation bin, and made the climb down. At first mom was very protective of her newborns who were in a muddy area, but after she gained some trust she allowed me to gather her pups, and leash her and take her home. :) A week or so later I was in the same area walking the mom, and a guy came up and said "Genaro"? Of course mom dog was elated and I (being stupid at the time) gave him my phone # and told him she had six puppies at my house. It worked out just fine as the idiot never called, and I ended up with one brilliant girl (and the runt of the litter) for the next 12 years. :) The rest of the litter were placed into an excellent shelter where they all got homes. Border collies sure are high energy dogs, and if I were younger I'd get another in a heartbeat. :D
