View Full Version : Upcoming show in Toledo (2006)

11-23-2005, 09:43 AM
I know it is early, but time always goes by so quickly, and I am forgetful, so while I am thinking about it...

The Mid-Michigcan Cat Fancier's Show is in Maumee, Ohio, January 15-16, 2006. Kimmy and I went last year, and it was a nice show. Lots of cats!!

The Mutt Show, at the SeaGate Center in Toledo, is February 11, 2006. We had a great group of PT there last year, and Kia was the best snow dog mix!! I *think* they are planning a larger area this year, and I have also heard rumors there will be a pure-bred class as well.

I know weather in Ohio can be quite tricky that time of year, but keep the dates in mind!

I will try to see if Keegan and I can make the dog one. Not sure about the cat show tho that would be fun too! :)

12-08-2005, 04:01 AM
I marked the dogs on my calendar, hopefully the weather will be fine and we can make it.

12-08-2005, 11:28 AM
I just got a call today from the Show Coordinators asking if I'd like to enter Kia again. I thanked them for the call but declined. Kia won last year so it's time to give others a chance. :)

... only 2 weeks away!!!

I've got to do some SERIOUS "training" to try to get in shape!

Don't think I can handle a whole day on my feet just yet. :(

01-29-2006, 11:16 AM
Don't push yourself too hard Phred! I don't think many people are going to make it this year. As much as we would like to have you there, maybe you should take it easy and train for Memorial Day!!

Amy & Ralph, we're still plannin' to come up. :)
Phred, anyone else near you willing to be da "bus driver" for Toledo or Memorial Day? Maybe you could just put yer feets up and relax on the way n' enjoy the scenery?

01-29-2006, 05:34 PM
Amy & Ralph, we're still plannin' to come up. :)

Yeah!!! I should warn you, if it is anything like aslt year...it gets crowded! We will try to stay close to the therapy dog booth, at least until anyone we know is coming gets there, so we can be found!

Sadly, http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/frown.gif - no one lives tween here 'n there. http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/tongue.gif

The *driving* part shouldn't be the hard part ...
*walking* is the killer right now!

The map says we did a whole 0.8 miles (8 tenths of a mile) in the Park this
afternoon ... sure hoped it was gonna be a bigger number than that! http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/frown.gif

We made another stop later and did another quarter mile ...
so I can calim a whole mile for today.

We need a roll-call of Who's Comin for the Great American Mutt Show ...

02-02-2006, 12:24 PM
The Toledo Humane Society keeps calling me asking if I went to enter Kia. *laughs*

At this point, Andy, Kia, and I are maybe's. With the wedding coming up soon, and gas prices going up and down, up and down, we've been trying to travel less to squirrel away money.

I'll know by the 10th. :)

02-02-2006, 02:55 PM
 Just got off the phone with the Seagate ctr, she has no idea where I can find any info on the show - all they have on their website is the box office phone no., not even the time it opens. The other website she directed me to had nothing.
Amy, is there somewhere I can find a schedule of events  ?

02-02-2006, 04:31 PM
I have not seen a schedule of events, but the show opens at 9 am. I will see if I can find flyer to send you.

02-02-2006, 06:29 PM
:(Sadly we won't be able to make it this year.

I hope those of you that get to go have fun and make sure to take plenty of pictures!

:( :(  :( :(
grumble, grumble
just found out that my hubs will have to spend that day at the university, it's his turn for "volunteer" work. :( Guess he forgot about Toledo and now he's committed. Not sure if I'm going to venture up with 2 dogs on my own.

02-08-2006, 09:28 AM
We regretably can't make it either. :( Have an appointment with the wedding photographer.

Here's hoping for next year!

Three Humans and Six Dawgs so far ...

We're gonna be sorta "Lonely" this year!

Does this mean you are coming? If so, do you know an approximate time? I am trying not to be there all day, so I want to make sure we are then when you are!!

02-10-2006, 04:41 PM
Phred was leaving sometime this afternoon and staying at a Red Roof Inn near the Seagate Center.
do you have his cell?

02-10-2006, 04:44 PM

02-10-2006, 05:10 PM
HI Amy, just want to confirm we will not be coming up :( . --complications at my job now. will you take pics to share with us?

02-11-2006, 04:30 PM
We are home! Took lots of pictures, just not sure how well they came out. I will try to get them uploaded yet this weekend.

Phred and his crew and Carrie and Gabbie all came! It was not nearly as crowded as last year (although still crowded!) Had a great day, and of course missed all our friends!

Can't wait to see the pics! Wish we could have made it but I just thought it might be too much with Jasmine. She would have wanted to pet every dog there and I don't know how I would have kept her calm! You know her and doggies, she just can't get enough! :D :D :D Don't know where she gets that, lol!

02-11-2006, 07:17 PM
looking forward to the pics!

02-11-2006, 07:26 PM

02-11-2006, 08:13 PM
Me too!!! So glad Phred could make it. Would he be back home now?

We left about 3:30-4. If he drove straight home, he should have gotten home about 6:30-7, but he may have talked to Carrie a bit longer, or stopped for dinner.

74 pics, uploading now...

02-11-2006, 08:42 PM
Pictures are uploaded! Sorry a lot of them are blurry. I just can not seem to find a good setting for indoor lighting!

Great pics! I really wish I would have came up for it, especialy after talking to Amy and seeing the pics. As she said though, it was really weird, I was watching the news and I was telling Jasmine to look at the doggies on tv. All of a sudden, I'm like, what a pretty, wait, we know that dalmation, it's Spot, with Cincy and Sadie by his side, hey and there's Cinder and Smoke in the next shot, wow. How cool! So I had to call big sis to let her know. Hope they had it on again at 11 so she and Ralph could see. I fell asleep with Jasmine so I have no idea what happened after about 10:30 pm last night, lol!

02-12-2006, 09:57 AM
Atually...we both dozed off around 10:30 too, so I don't know if it was on the late news or not :(
