Hi everyone! Just wondered what everyone's favourite kind of horse is eg to ride, care for or just to look at. I love all horses with all my heart, but would have to go with cobs because they're fun to canter (very bouncy!) and have brilliant personalities! Enjoy the poll!:D

Probably Arabians and Quarter Horses, they're what I've had all my life.

I'm a total nut freak but I think Arabs and Thoroughbreds are my favourites.

I'm not a horse fanatic, but I'd choose Arabs. =] They are the only kind of horse I've actually been around(my cousin owns two).

Draft horses - Clydesdales in particular, but also plain old mixed-breed big guys.
Uncle Lonnie had a team of big of huge blue-grey draft horses that were used around the farm, and to pull kids on "hayrides" around Halloween - they were mostly Percheron, but about a foot or so too short to be purebreds, and had backs so broad you could have set a picnic on 'em ... but they were sweet as could be, adamant about always being on the proper side (woe be to the new guy who tried to yoke them together wrong) and basically like big old puppies when not in yoke. Once in their yoke, though, they were all business, unless an apple or sugar cube appeared - then you'd have better had two of whatever it was!

Arabians and Quarter Horses. I love the Arabs firey personality... plus they're absolutely gorgous! I had an Arab when I was 12, she was black. She was a sweetie, but quite stubborn at times. Quarter horses are very strong horses and do well in western things like barrel racing!

Teehee, this thread is so old, I think it was the first poll I ever posted. :p

To look at, thoroughbred. I don't think I'd want to ride a purebreed, 100% thoroughbred. Many of them are too high strung. To ride, QH all the way! When I get a horse(I will...eventually) It will be either a QH or QHxTB :]
Arabs, Morgans, and Icelandic

I have to revamp my original post and say that I also love Irish Sprot Horses, Selle Fransais, Most any warmbloods, especially Frederiksborg because of the tendancy of roman faces, and I also love Saddlebred crosses because of their long beautiful noses and necks. Pure breds are a little short for me. My feet tend to hand off anything below 16 hh. I also am starting to like Georgian Grandes, which are a baroque horse crossed with a light horse, usually a FresianXSaddlebred. Time for fun aka pics!
