Wow Tubby you are one Black Beauty! I love black kittes, there's something very special about them. I can't believe how pretty and magical you look with your golden eyes and jet black fur! Your mom certainly is lucky. I am so heartened to hear that you're still going strong at 14 years young :eek: ! I pray my kitties live that long. Tubby, you are truly worthy of COTD:D My dearest cat friend in the world (RB now) lived to be 22 yrs old :eek: I think he's the oldest on one of the pet polls "How Old is Your Cat?". He too was a velcro cat with me...one of his favs was to ride on my shoulder after I took a bath or shower :rolleyes: I know how your mom must feel when you look at her with your love in your eyes. Tubby is a beatiful kitty! I hope he is with you for many more years. I know where you are coming from with the sex mix up. A girl in my school had to get rid of her year old cat because her mother didn't want it anymore (people can suck!) and she was affraid to give it to the Humane Socity since it wasn't a kitten. Anyway, she told me that the cat was a SPAYED female. She comes over with the cat and it is a very intact male.

She asked me how I knew and I pointed at the fuzzy kitty balls. She had always wondered what those were. SIGH!!!

Anyway, he is doing very well now and has a more masculine name. Damion.

Secondly, I want to tell you that you look exactly like my cat, Maggie, whose nickname could also be Tubby. Like you Maggie has a which sun spot on her chest, and I have seen the expression you have in your picture on my "Mags" many times. Maggie is almost five and just hope to have her around at least as long as you have been around, Tubby, and I hope you are with us for years to come!:p

I am still a newcomer to Pet Talk (but not to Cat of the Day) and I see that Tubby is already famous beyond posting. His fame is well deserved, judging from his picture. Many of my best moments have been spent with either of two black cats, one gone, one here right now, so I am glad to see an oldtimer black cat as COTD.

May Tubby live long yet. May he prosper, whether clad in drag or straight.

We plan to make a trip to Chicago this summer. We will keep our eyes peeled for Tubby.

Hip hip hooray! Our own Tubby is Cat of the Day!!! Tubby, you're a real sweetie and a gorgeous guy too. My Emmett started out similarly (he was formerly known as "Emily" until the vet found out she was a he!) so I think this is a common occurrence. Regardless, I'm so glad you lead such a happy and healthy life. Stump is 13 1/2 and considers you a role model!:D Stump is also very much a "velcro kitty" and a great helper cat too, just like you.

So have a great day, play alot with Peanut, and stick even closer to your Mom and Dad!!

Congratulations for being COTD, Tubby!
You are a very handsome cat!:eek: You remind me a cat I had when I was a student (he was also black with a white spot). Of course, I was not allowed to have a pet in the dormitory, but I faught for the right to have it even with the Dean, so... I found him (at the time, I thought her) at the entrance door, so tiny and hungry. I guess, he was about 4 weeks old. We named him Marisabel:D. Well, I left for 2 weeks home and when I came, I realized he was not a she and we all agreed to call him Kuzea.
Once again, congrats and have a long, long happy life!:D

I MISSED IT!!! :( :( :( :( :(

We left early Friday morning for a weekend away, and look who's COTD! I can't believe I missed Tubby's day! On Mondays I normally check out the weekend COTD if I haven't had a chance to keep up over the weekend. Boy was I surprised when I clicked on "Previous Cats" and saw Tubby's name! I hadn't even had a chance to collect my mail so I hadn't even seen the email from Karen telling me to watch for Tubby!

Thanks everyone for all your wonderful comments. Tubby will definitely get extra hugs, smoochies and butt pats tonight - and all week to try and make up for missing his special day. Unfortunately we can't give him milk anymore, but I'll think of some special treat for him. He was extra sticky velcro ;) last night after we got home. He wouldn't let me out of his sight and was most content when I carried him around as I was unpacking. Anyone ever try unpacking while carrying a cat around? :rolleyes:
